The motor did not function properly and the unit could not maintain proper water flow, which caused the skimmer to overflow and spill water. This is extremely dangerous for a reef aquarium β€” it can cause flooding and damage livestock. I followed the instructions exactly. This was not user error β€” the pump simply did not work correctly and the skimmer was unusable. I immediately returned the product, but the seller is now refusing to issue a refund, even though the item was clearly defective on arrival. This was a very expensive piece of equipment and this seller is putting customers at risk by shipping faulty units and then refusing to stand behind them.
