Huge fan!
We purchased this during the black friday (2024) season and started using it around Christmas. We're still on our first vaccuum bag (no pet household but we do occasionally have 4-legged shedding friends over) so I'm very impressed that after 8 months we're still on bag one. The object avoidance is about 90% there, sometimes it gets stuck or into something that it shouldn't and we laugh and yell "Rocky, how did you get over there!" but it's never caused any damage or any problems. I would absolutely re-buy this again. It saves us so much time and it does a great job on our polished concrete and tile flooring. Suction is great. It's sturdy, everything is functioning as it should after 8 months. The charge allows it to finish its job in our home (approx 1600 square feet).

i will never purchase another roborock again
for a Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra expecting a premium experience, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. The robot was brand new and unused. When I finally installed it, it would not start properly. The dock appeared to detect the robot, and after several hours of charging it briefly announced "Charging" before shutting down again. Despite leaving it on the dock overnight, it still would not power on normally. After troubleshooting, I measured the battery voltage directly and found it was reading approximately 0.1V, which suggests the battery had become deeply discharged or failed completely. The robot remained unusable and could not complete setup. For a product in this price range, I expected much better quality control and battery protection during long-term storage. A premium robot vacuum should not become unusable simply because it remained in its unopened box for 1 year

Good but shy of great.
This robot with autofill and empty is outstanding and saves a lot of time. However, it is important to realize that in order for this unit to work well you must do the following 1. Make sure your floors have no clutter as the robot will get stuck 2. Make sure your floor is dry and no wet dirt or food is anywhere. If you vacuum up wet dirt or food you will clog up the dust bin in the robot and will need to clean the whole dust bin. 3. If your unit gets stuck .. do not free the vacuum and send it on its way as this will cause the map to drift and become useless shortly thereafter. Cancel the job first, fix the vacuum so whatever the issue is that caused the stall is removed, RETURN THE VACUUM TO THE DOCK ** EXTREMELY IMPORTANT *** and then start the cleaning cycle again. The biggest issue I have with this vacuum is the map. The map will drift periodically and there is no way, despite numerous users asking Roborock, to disable or save a map that is not updated automatically every time the vacuum runs. This is the biggest problem and new users please realize that this issue in of itself ruins a very powerful user experience with this vacuum.

Would give it 100 stars and trade my husband for it!!
I absolutely love the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. With a busy life, this has made such a difference for me. It’s incredibly easy to use and just works without me having to think about it. Even my husband can operate it with Alexa! The cleaning performance is excellent, and the automation saves me so much time and effort. It’s one of those products you don’t realize how much you’ll appreciate until you have it. Truly an amazing machine and worth every bit.

Not worth the price
I love the self empty/refill but I am so tired of hearing “main brush jammed”. The object and obstacle reconnection is worse that the previous model. It can’t make it through a full clean without getting tangled on a plug, sock, or behind a door. For the price I expected at the minimum for it to be able to recognize not to suck up a sock.

Works great!
Works great! I was used to Roomba getting stuck all the time and having to chase after robot. This one completes the cycle and returns to base 9 out of 10 times. Cleans great! (I have glossy tile floor). Some issues here and there but the ways it keeps my floor it makes it all worth it. Went from having a weekly housekeeper to biweekly.. thus saves me $$ (of course we do the weekly maintenance on baths, kitchen, etc) I feel bad for iRobot. This is a perfect example of what happens when you rely on an initial product, fail to continue to innovate and China takes over. Bittersweet

I was... liking it a lot! but that didn't last long
2/9/26 edit: Roborock did contact me within 24 hours with some steps to test, which I doubt is going to help but it seems they are genuine in trying to resolve the issue and the steps they provided are very straight forward. I just haven't had time to do it and get back to them. Hopefully they make the process of getting a working robot to me quick and easy. Will update this with what happens. Boosted a star for now for the quick and genuine support from Roborock. 2/6/26 Edit: I've had this thing less than 2 months and the thing cannot dock itself. I think it's a sensor internally in the robot that isn't recognizing it being docked. I can dock it by hand for charging however, but it will not clean. I think it's a sensor inside the robot itself that I've read of Roborock in other issues. This thing was really expensive and already totally unusable, very unhappy. If Roborocks response to my help inquiry is sufficient I will update this. Now that I've had some time with it I am really loving it. It does a wonderful job on all of our floors, tile, vinyl and a few carpets, 2 kids, 5 furry pets. I've had very few problems since the initial run and I think it does a considerably better job than the Dreame L20 I had before this. I upgraded from the Dreame specifically for the refill and drain system, but the Dreame was having some longevity issues of its own, though it had been quite the workhorse for us for a year and did a great job. I was a little worried after the first run, the floor was clear of obstacles but I let it get a little dirty than normal to test the robot when it came. First run over the full house the floors still looked like crap, the internal dry bin filled up and clogged. The drain also clogged during the first run, and second run, first time it blew out fine from the inside but the second clog I had to remove the little panel on the bottom where the drain goes to the waste hose and use pressure to blow towards the unit. Cleared right out. I think the clogging of the dust bin caused the mop to get really dirty which in turn clogged the drain when it was cleaned. Also, I think the 3rd most powerful setting for vacuum and 3rd for mopping gets much better results than the standard and/or "smart". I didn't use the "smart" setting long enough to really get a feel for its worth in the long run but turbo and intense seem much better. Overall I'm very happy, it's got great form factor. Some of the parts have a cheap feel but I have yet to have any functional or aesthetic problems and floors have never been cleaner.

BUYER BEWARE
Let’s start here. Would you like to hire a plumber to set this up? I hope you were expecting to. Do you see in the product description ANYWHERE about opening up a drainage and water line in your walls to be able to use this type of docking station? I didn’t. If I did I would have never purchased. Make sure you have this in mind that it has to be a certain amount of distance and water pressure capacity from your water and drainage lines if you intend on trying to set that up in your home. I’m sorry but is this supposed to sit in my bathroom or where exactly in my kitchen as most of us have cabinets that are in front or our sinks?? But again, buyer BEWARE. Maybe the company could be a bit more clear and explicit with this type of information. If you want to exchange it for the one that doesn’t require this sorry about your luck. They have TERRIBLE customer service. For 1200.00 I need a company to show their customers some kind of support for their product and not be allusive to what they’re selling. Plenty of other reputable companies that sell these so look elsewhere or go ahead and hire that lumber before your robot gets delivered. I’m sure it’s very affordable to have one come in to cut lines and set it up…….RETURNED!!
