So Far So GREAT!
Wow, does this iron perform! It's easy to fill with water, it heats up quickly and it produces incredible steam. It cut my ironing time at least in half. It was especially wonderful at ironing linen towels. The forced push of the steam thru the iron is amazing. I didn't even need to dampen them! I sure wish I'd had this iron after I bought floor length linen drapes last year that required pressing before I could put them up. It is a very large iron and it is the heaviest iron I have had (heavier than their last "top of the line" iron, which was retired due to the cord cracking around where it attaches to the iron, but, it had a long life). I don't mind the weight, but if you don't want something big and heavy, you might wish to look at different models. I am very happy with my purchase of this Rowenta Force Pro Steam Iron.

This is a good iron.
I review here the Rowenta DW9580. It is named on the iron as Steamforce Pro. Also text taken from displays on the physical iron are: 1850W max, Shot 250g (relates to the steam function), Anti-drip, & High Precision (relative to the tip of the sole plate). "Made in France" is stated on the model number plate and was also on the product's box. This iron is a companion to another Rowenta DW9081 that I still use after many years (made in Germany). The DW9580 has an easily read digital display showing the ironing modes from synthetic (lowest setting) to linen. Synthetic is the only mode without continuous steam. Thus, I experienced a period of adaptation to the continuous steam function. When you first plug in the iron, the setting defaults to "Wool." It has auto-off but reheats quickly. The iron did not come packaged with a small decanter for filling the water reservoir; I suppose that's old-school. I've sewn clothes and projects for many years and now have begun to piece quilt tops. Thus, the 9580 iron has been quite helpful, especially since I don't have space for setting up a "steam station." The steam function of the 9580 makes fast and simple the pressing out of seams and also the preparation of fabric for cutting. I have carefully used the new iron for clothing (starting always with synthetic mode) without mishap. So far, the Rowenta DW9580 seems a good purchase. I recommend it.

Excellent iron
This is a great product and worked correctly right out of the box. It has a very large tank of water and was easy to use. The highest steam let me work through my shirts quickly and they turned out perfect. Highly recommend.

A Total Morning Disaster – Ruined My Kids' Uniforms
I have to say, I’m officially over this "Pro" iron after just a week of pure frustration. Between getting my second grader ready for school and trying to look somewhat put together for my own day, I really don’t have time for a tool that just adds more work to my plate. This morning was the last straw. I was finishing up a fresh white school polo, and wouldn’t you know it, the iron spat out a big, dirty-looking water blotch right across the chest. Seriously? It doesn’t just steam; it leaks like a faucet! I’ve spent more time this week tossing around a hairdryer trying to fix the water stains this thing leaves behind than I’ve actually spent ironing. For a brand that’s supposed to be high-end, I expected it to work without drama. I can’t trust it around our nice clothes at all. As if the leaking wasn’t enough, the "smart" design is clearly not made for someone like me, who’s always in a rush. The touch-sensitive display? Total nightmare. My palm accidentally bumps the heat settings every single time I adjust my grip, and I nearly scorched a delicate blouse yesterday because of it. This thing is heavy, clunky, and the steam trigger is right where my fingers naturally rest, so I’m constantly getting blasted with steam when I don’t want it. I bought this iron hoping it would make my life easier, but it’s become a daily source of stress instead.

Great iron, although limited control of steam
Great iron with excellent temp control. Heats up fast, iron surface slides easily, steam ports are small and we'll distributed. Steam is always on at a constant rate (no control). There is an extra steam trigger. If you want no steam, I guess empty the water tank, because it can't be turned off. Wish it had something to control amount of steam (from no steam to max steam) and a sprayer for water at front of iron.

Best steam power from household iron.
I love this iron. I iron quite a lot and the steam feature cuts down my time doing so. Previously I had a Rowenta steam iron and it lasted near twenty years. This current model is much lighter than my first one. This is great because I’m older and now have some arthritis in my hand. This newer model doesn’t have automatic shut off. I appreciate this because my old iron would occasionally shut off when I wasn’t finished but maybe walked away to do something for a minute or two. When that happened I’d have to unplug, reset, and wait for it to get heated. This newer Rowenta steam iron holds more water too, which is great if you iron a lot. One dislike is the control setting is too light and I have difficulty seeing which setting I’m putting on. Way more pluses than that one issue. Don’t confuse this model with other lower priced Rowenta steam irons (like their Focus model) because this model has a higher wattage that actually allows easy correction when accidentally creating an unwanted crease. This models easily removes such mistakes. Cord is not retractable but never a desired feature for me.

Best iron on the markret
This is the best iron I've ever had. Totally worth the price. Only problem is that it doesn't fit into my existing wall rack, so I'm going to have to replace that--because I'm not giving up the iron.

Big & clumsy to handle, still delivers sharp, wrinkle-free clothes faster previous iron.
I'm not a professional, just a guy who is in a hurry but needs to iron my clothes to dress professionally. That being said, I believe I get through my ironing faster than my previous iron. That's a BIG PLUS. Everything also appears to look just a little sharper or more crisp with this iron. It does a great job getting out even the stubborn wrinkles. However, it initially drips a lot of water each time I start. I can hear a pump initially kick on to transfer water. However, the steam is fine after the first couple of minutes (different from what I am used to). It is bigger than the average iron, making it not as easy to use as the smaller irons (It's a tradeoff between ease of use and speed). It does a quality job, but the iron itself does not seem to be great quality, thus significantly overpriced. It is 1850 watts yet the cord is a cheaper quality (a thin cord for a big iron, not polarized). The cord is also shorter than my previous even though the add claims it has a long chord. I view the cord is not a safety feature since it is easy to bump the iron by hitting the cord and possible concern for safety over the flimsy cord. I don't know why they call a "PRO." I like the color and it is true to the advertised photo. I kept it because I need something fast and gets out stubborn wrinkles, making my clothes look sharp, and I put up with the other shortcomings.

Big results with little effort
This iron has super long cords, so goes where you go. It is light weight but delivers lots of steam power. Ironing doesn't need to be drudgery. I use mine primarily for quilting and sewing. Best value for your money.

Plancha
Es un poco pesada, pero se compensa por mucho con la facilidad para planchar por la gran cantidad de vapor que emite. Excelente producto

Great iron for a sewer!
I'm super happy with this purchase!!!! I had to replace my very old reliable Shark iron that died. Before purchasing this one I purchased and returned many different irons (brands like Singer, Shark, Rowenta and two no name brands) all of them did not get hot enough. I do a lot of sewing and quilting so heat is very important for pressing seams and getting crisp lines. It gets super hot and has a nice plate to keep clean. Steam function is nice too, but I don't need it very often with this iron because the iron gets super hot. The cord is not as long as I would like but its manageable. Hoping this one lasts.

The iron seemed to be great, but first of all we’ve ordered it from uk has US plug. Then it has stopped working after one month
