The RC Electric Parts 80A Electric Speed Controller (ESC) is a great little powerful ESC that runs very well and doesn't run hot like other ESCs! The ESC comes pre-soldered with 4.0mm Bullet Plugs and an XT90 Plug, eliminating the need for you to solder your own plugs on! The ESC can be programmed via the transmitter as explained in the instructions or using a programming card that can be purchased separately. Make sure to use an RC Electric Parts Programming card to ensure that it'll properly program the ESC. Review: Have no control over it - I bought 3 of these, and none of them work properly, when I plug them in they are full throttle, I have no control over them, I’ve swapped wires, messed with trim, tried to fix it in the transmitter itself, tried different receiver and transmitter and nothing works. I figured it would’ve been flawless being that they have good reviews, but apparently not. I need a refund or send me 3 proper working ones I’ve tried calling but no answer.
Review: Works well for high speed - doesn't allow for lower speed control - I bought this and the listed programmer, to try to turn the motor speed down (I'm using it to power a rebuilt vintage blender...). Lowest speed was still about 2x what I'd wanted (note this is with belt/gear reduction already). Since BLDCs can have arbitrary speeds, not sure why there isn't a special "crawler" mode or something to this controller. For my application, I also found the cables too long, but of course that's easily rectified, and much better than too short! It's great that it provides 5.5V out, which allows me to power both the controller and the light show without requiring a separate regulator.

**Q: What is a good battery that works with this? Preferably under $25**
A: I used 3s 2200 mA

**Q: How do i calibrate this esc when i first turn it on?**
A: We highly recommend doing a "Throttle Range Calibration" Procedure. In brief, the procedure lets the ESC know exactly where the max and min throttle positions are, so there is not a dead spot at the top or bottom end of the throttle. Our online user guide (see the product descriptions for the link) has detailed instructions and a video on how to do the procedure. In summary, all you need to do is power on the ESC in the full throttle position, wait a few seconds until you hear a few short beeps, put the throttle in the minimum throttle position, wait for another beep, and power of everything.

**Q: Is it able to do forward and reverse ?**
A: This ESC cannot be reversed as would be used to back up an RC car.  But by switching two of the three motor wires manually, you can reverse the direction of the motor.  This is useful only in RC airplanes where you might use a pusher propeller configuration or for counter rotating propellers.

**Q: Will this esc work in rc trucks?**
A: Its not ideal for RCs as it has no reverse, no proportional braking (only 0 or 100%), and will cause cogging with some motors.
