I’ve only had this a few days, but I absolutely love this Minipresso. I’m not wild about the plastic part but the hot water isn’t in there long so I’m not going to sweat it. It makes an AMAZING espresso that I use for ice coffee. I’ve purchased the Ninja Espresso machine and it was honestly terrible for me and didn’t work well and that was ALOT of money. This portable little baby has exceeded my expectations and I’ve tried a few espresso machines. I love that it takes up virtually no space and that it’s portable. I also love that the scoop for coffee that’s provided can be used as a tamper and help to press it into the compartment. I don’t use the capsules. And it makes a nice layer of cream. So far I’ve very pleased with it and it’s way better than the Aeropress as well.

This is my initial reaction review and I will hopefully update with more info on reliability in the future. Amazing! I have made a total of 10 shots on this over the first 2 days of owning it, and aside from being unable to sleep due to the caffeine, I am as happy as a pig in mud. I have a good conical stainless burr grinder set for espresso (sugar grains or a bit smaller, I can almost compact in using pinch test). First shot I pulled the machine out of the box and just followed the instructions. Kinda weird tasting and I didn't pack it enough or add enough grounds. Definitely some strange chemicals in there so I took it apart all the way, washed with soap and water, rinsed, then blew out the portafilter and the showerhead thingy with compressed air. I did not and would strongly recommend not using compressed air on the pump. The chemical smell comes from the rubber cap for the showerhead thingy that has a single hole in it. It isn't gone but is fading with use. The taste of the 2nd shot after cleaning was much better but not quite strong enough for me. I took out the spacer to allow the basket to go up to 12g of coffee. I find that 10g fits perfectly and is accomplished by putting the funnel into the basket and filling it to approximately 1/8 inch below full. Then tamp it with scoop a bit, remove funnel, tamp tight. Preheat machine with a few pumps of boiling water. Screw on bottom, fill top with boil water. Pump 8-9 times, you can feel it pressurize. Wait 15 seconds then pump steadily til it pumps no more. This makes an amazing shot to my only slightly coffee snob self. Cleanup is not bad, I unscrew the bottom over trash tilted away from fingers so I don't get burnt. Tap on edge of can til puck falls out. Take out showerhead from main pump and the filter from the basket. Remove rubber washers. Rinse everything. Dry everything. Reassemble. Take a few minutes but I'd rather have it clean and sealing properly every time. I got the case and extra baskets. Both are great and worth the money. I can go from in the case with cold water to a triple shot 22oz Americano in approx 12 minutes, 15 if you include cleanup. I start the kettle, grind 30g, pack all 3 filters. By that time the water is boiling and I can brew each filter one after the other. I rinse the showerhead/pump between shots to ensure it seals properly. I'm gonna use the hell out of this thing and report back on how long it lasts. If it breaks I may consider moving to the picopresso but I will definitely at least be purchasing another one of these.

Makes really good espresso in under 5 minutes, for people who love to drink espresso and don't want to spend money on big machines for now, it will make a perfect fit and it's also compact and easy to take out with you whenever you go 100% would recommend it. Easy to use

So this product is very interesting. It works. I'm not sure how it works, but it does. Now don't think you are going to get a massive pull, like an actual double shot out of it, but you will definitely get the foamy thick espresso texture you're looking for, somewhere between 3/4 of a shot and a full shot. (Which for most people making something at home or on the go is sufficient. The main allure of this product is it's portability, and being able to travel and make espresso (which I have not done yet). And I think it could work, but you'd have to make sure you have the ability to boil water if you're hiking or something. The main way people will probably use this, is if they are visiting family and friends and really want espresso, they can just use this portable maker. I bought this because my wife likes to make espresso tonic, but that's not enough to buy a fancy expensive machine. The main con with this espresso maker is that it really can't handle that much pressure. There is a section where you put the fine grinds, and then on the opposite side, you put your boiling water in a little tank that connect to the pressure cage (and then you essentially pump hot water through the grounds, and it filters out the other side of the container). This actually took me a second to figure out - the instructions were not clear that you have to flip the container, but luckily I found the video before I started pressing the pump. But back to the pressure: if you fill the little container full of grounds, tamper it down, and then go - it will be too full, and when the coffee expands, the water can't actually seep through to the other side. This has happened to us several times, and we finally figured out that you have to really hang back on how much coffee you use in the little chamber, I'd go for filling it up half-way, tampering it down, and then trying it, just don't try to pack it tight. All in all, it's pretty cool, and we'll keep using it. We'll see if it gets worn out or still works in a few months.

A friend had this at their house, so I got to try it out. It is so tiny it can be taken pretty much anywhere. The brew is great. No charging needed! No complicated machine that looks like it should be in a coffee shop. Durable material. Can be a little messy when cleaning it up, but in general, a super lightweight, small, durable little handheld espresso maker is the best! All you need is your grounds and your hot water and voila! Espresso! You don’t have to be a pro barista or figure a super complicated expensive machine. Love it!

This thing makes a great little espresso shot with creama! Two capacities to customize strength. No power/batteries needed (except for hot water!). Compact, well made, easy to clean. It takes around 60 pumps to get all the water through which provides A nice little finger exercise. At home I cup it between my palms and stabilize over a mug rather than using the little attached cup - but great that that is included for trips. I had owned an aero press, but much prefer what I get from this, and it’s so much easier to use than a Moka pot!

The product performed precisely as advertised. I prepared a cup of coffee, and the results were excellent. I would confidently recommend this product to both colleagues and friends.

I like it however I see many design flaws. First it’s plastic! I was sort of hoping it was some sort of metal. At least the tank where you put the hot water. The design flaws I find is cleaning. You can’t open the housing part where the expresso comes out. So who knows how much that will eventually build up with old coffee stains, perhaps making the espresso tasting bad (eventually though). You can only add clean water as if you were making espresso and try to clean it as best as possible. The other flaws, doesn’t keep the coffee that hot really, also it’s not enough espresso, it seems like a little less than a shot. Plus if you want to make more, it’s sort of best to let everything dry. I suppose you make another 3/4 shot when everything is wet. Also drying takes rather long! You have to shake and make sure all the water is out before putting it back together. But if you are traveling you can wait until you get home. Or just leave it open to air out. I do like the taste of the espresso shot, you get that cream too which is very nice. Plus the coffee isn’t burnt or so bitter, unless you have old beans of course. So I’m pleased with that. I think it’s a start for a decent design but I do think they should fix some of the flaws. We’ve been using this everyday and so far the press part works fine. I can see this could be difficult for someone with arthritis. But as far as the quality of the espresso, it is nice although I wish the coffee stayed sort of hot. This serves a purpose, prob best for traveling or camping, maybe not for everyday usage. I gave it 3 stars because of design flaws. Maybe I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could. I would even pay more if this were made out of some sort of safe metal. Best

I want give it more than 5 stars. It an amazing espresso maker, fully manual but perfectly usable. Solved the problem of traveling and not having a good coffee. Now you can just keep your grounded coffee with you and make espresso anytime you want. It's also good for daily usage I am usi g it on daily basis in my office not sure about the durability but the material looks sturdy.

I bought this about a month ago and wanted to wait to write a review until I'd used it for a while. I was slightly nervous of buying it because of the price, but I have to say that I'm really impressed. I work in an office in central London where all the surrounding chain cafes turn out so-so espresso for between £1.50-2.00/shot, and was fed up of that. This really has solved that issue and pretty soon I'll break even on the investment of buying it vs the cost of buying coffees out all the time. It's a really, really small and nifty device, extremely quick and easy to use and clean, and crucially - makes very good espresso, easily as good if not better than the espresso sold in many cafes. Yes, it takes a few days to get used to, and without question it won't suit everyone; it is a (bit) messy and requires careful cleaning to get the best from it, and if you're looking for espresso right up there like that from a proper machine, sure you'll be disappointed - but this is basically a 20cm long bike pump that makes coffee, so give it a break! All I can say is that it works well for me and really is quick and easy to use, allows you to select your own coffee type of choice, and so to my mind is well worth it. I now use it at least daily, if not twice a day, during the working week, and envisage my taking it on holiday too: I could imagine anyone who regularly goes camping, etc. finding it especially useful.
