Oster Original 3 Speed Chrome Blender, 6 Times more Durable Motor, 10 Times Stronger, 5 Cup Glass Jar

I've had a Vitamix for decades+. Due to health issues, I am removing toxins where possible. I am disappointed that Vitamix continues to raise the price for a non-toxic container, now at $250. This is prohibitive for most, especially for those with high medical costs. This type of exploitation and lack of concern about the health consequences of consumers leaves me to question the companies ethics. I bought this Oster with low expectations and it surprised me. It actually does a BETTER job than Vitamix for coffee blended with ghee/coconut oil due to the size. I also prefer it for my smoothies with frozen fruit. I wish I made this change years ago. Thank you Oster. Per other reviews, the black rubber feet are in fact an issue. My solution was to cut a cheap white plastic cutting board to put under the base and now I can move it on the counter without marking the white stone.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Wow! No wonder this blender is still being made. It is amazing! I had a Kitchen Aid that cost me two and a half times more and this does a better job. I love the three power levels and that is all you need! It's a workhouse and it is worth every penny. It is funny it is the one I grew up with over 60 years ago! I love that it is a glass blender with a metal blade. The blender jar is a good size, but smaller than my Kitchen Aid. No biggie I can do two batches for extra large recipes, but for the most part capacity is enough for most jobs.

This is my second Oster blender, repurposed the first one for a rental property. This one looks cool and works fine, does what I need it to do, which is blend smoothies and bean soup, etc. I wondered about having only 3 speeds, but when you think about it, how many speeds do you really need? Low, medium and high work just fine for me. As for the noise a lot of reviews mention, jeez - doesn't seem all that loud to me. Louder than my older one? Not sure. If you're blending while someone is snoozing on the couch in the next room, you'll probably wake 'em. Not loud enough to scare my cats off their food bowls, but that probably would require dynamite. And yes, I do get a little whiff of burn when I use it. Like the motor is burning off some manufacturing detritus or whatever. I haven't used it a whole lot yet, but suspect it may go away after a bit. I like and prefer the substantial glass pitcher and it's easy to pull the blade and clean or run everything through the dishwasher. No leak issues whatsoever. Overall, it's a fine working and cool looking blender for the price. I'd buy it again.

We are in love with this blender. We do not need to make two 48 ounce protein shakes at once, just one or two normal sized shakes. So the pitcher size works for us - your mileage may vary on that, as our old blenders had larger capacity. Compared to our last 2, this one is noticeably quieter, although a blender is still a blender and makes some noise. No fancy controls, just a knob with a few speeds- I never go beyond the lowest speed, even when blending some frozen fruit and raw spinach in my shake. Hubby uses ice in his. An extra 30 seconds of blending and everything is well blended in either case. We also love the vintage style, and that the container is glass. Can't say we have found any cons with this one.

Worked reasonably well for one month. Then I started to smell a funny smell when it was on high and wondered whether the engine was burning out. Now it won’t work on high and I suspect the whole thing will stop working shortly. Do not buy this product.

I bought this fruit juicer blender as a gift for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loves it. She uses it every single day to make smoothies and fresh juice, and it works perfectly for blending fruits quickly and smoothly. The design is convenient, and the motor is powerful enough for everyday use. However, when it arrived, I noticed there was a small missing corner on the bottom pad. It’s not a huge issue for functionality, but it was disappointing to see on a brand-new product. I hope the seller can improve the packaging or quality check before shipping. Overall, very satisfied with the performance, but I wish the condition on arrival had been perfect.

What do you do when your 58 year old Osterizer finally dies? You buy another Oster blender. Yes, our Osterizer was a wedding gift 58 years ago and finally just gave up. This one is great. The 5 cup glass jar, was one of the important things I wanted in a blender, an even faster motor, and everything but the base fits right in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. But because it comes apart so easily it rarely goes in the dishwasher. Will it last another 58 years? Who knows? I guess I'll have to wait until we celebrate our 116th wedding anniversary.

Love this blender! So far (after 2 months use, 2-3 times/week) it’s been very good. I use it to make green juice in the morning and smoothies in the afternoon. Handles ice and veggies well, blends them smoothly with no chunks or large fibres, even with celery! I like that there are only a few speeds. I don’t need anything more than high and low. There is a bit of a burning motor smell but it seems to be dissipating. I love that the pitcher is glass. Easy to clean. It’s a bit smaller than my other blenders but it hasn’t been a problem so far. I can make 2 large smoothies in it.

I was looking for an exact replacement for my Oster/Sunbeam 20 yr+ blender. which I loved... This blender fits the bill... And all my other Oster pieces fit this new model.. So nothing needed to be thrown out. May be a little louder (?) but has 3 speeds rather than 2 on the older version... Lighter than the original because the outer case isn't metal. The black feet marks a white counter but are easily wiped up and I believe that the marking will reduce as the feet age.
