We had to buy the 2" thick mat for our daughter's preschool, and I was worried this might only fit the 1". After doing some further investigation, I realized that this cover should work. When it arrived, I check the fit and it fit with no issues (actually had room to spare). The cover was pretty soft to the touch, definitely not uncomfortable. Durability is to be determined. We washed it when it arrived and had no issues with it after one wash, but the true test will be as we go from week to week.
