The colour is gorgeous, and I am prepared to believe that it is made 30% of silk, but the 70% pashmina is not cashmere. The problem is with manufacturers and vendors deliberately misleading customers. Pashmina means cashmere in some countries, in others is the generic word to mean a long shawl. When the vendor indicates “pashmina” as 70% of the fivers used in manufacturing, the expectation is that this is cashmere. Unless you are being conned. This was very cheap for a 70% cashmere 30% shawl. For 70% of an unknown fibre plus 30% silk it is intolerably expensive. It is scratchy and not very nice. It is going back. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genuine Article *by K***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 May 2017* I had a handmade top-quality pashmina (70% pashmina wool / 30%silk) shawl, from nearly 20 years ago, against which to compare this. Happily, unlike so many other sellers palming off viscose scarves for 'pashmina,' this feels (and smells, after all it should contain wool from pashmina goats) like the genuine article. The fringing (another checkpoint) is also clearly handmade and of a decent spacing (not too sparse, although photo is 4 layers), with good tight knots. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ fine and with a good lustre *by P***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 August 2017* As other reviewers have noted, there is a slight musty smell when this pashmina is opened.
