The Climber, Vol. 1

Having heard good things about the manga, I read parts of it online. Was in enamored by how dynamic the art is but also how simple and charming it can be. The premise about a loner trying to leave the world behind also struck a chord with me. The climbing scenarios are intense, and it woke something up in me even though I never climbed a day in my life. The supporting characters serve as excellent foundation to hold the story up and keep the MC from being to alienating. The book itself is not as sturdy as I thought it would be, but it is well-crafted and beautiful to add to shelf.

I got this for my boyfriend, and it came right on time to surprise him! This book came in good quality, no marks anywhere. It was well packaged. I think he will enjoy this book.

This was amazing. I didn’t have much knowledge about rock/mountain climbing before going in so it’s been pretty cool learning about it as MC does. The art is beautiful, the story immediately hooks you in. Can’t wait for the next volume 🩵

Very peak book i read in an hour I definitely reccomend.Book came a bit dirty but it was coming from overseas and I just wiped the dirt of and it was fine.

The Climber para mim é a melhor obra de Sinichi Sakamoto. Ele começa com uma tentativa de um shonen de escalada que a partir da metade do segundo volume em diante (onde Sinichi Sakamoto toma mais parte da escrita) se tornar uma história bem madura e introspectiva, sobre reclusão social e sobre o limites que podemos ir para alcançarmos nosso objetivo. Aqui não é sobre amar escalada, é pergunta clara de "Até quanto você pode sacrificar para alcançar o seu sonho?". E é isso que vemos, o personagem principal Mori, sacrificando a sociedade, a familia, seu corpo, para poder sentir por última vez a sensação única de alcançar o que tanto se deseja, e sozinho nesse pequeno momento se sentir finalamente feliz. A arte aqui é simplesmente inacreditável. Sakamoto desenhou isso com uma "Brush Pen" da Pentel e tinta pilot. Amigos, comprem uma dessas e tentem fazer 1/10 do que é um quadro desse manga, é simplesmente incompressível o que ele faz, e a cada volume ficar melhor e melhor. Esse manga é o começo de uma revolução, a arte, o fato de não ter onomatopeias é uma experiência única. Os problemas: aqui a embalagem não veio com nenhuma proteção, simplesmente o manga solto que gera alguns amassados. O papel é fino e nem de perto da mesma qualidade de Innocent, é um pouco melhor do que os mangas da panini (sabe aquele papel meio jornal) de versões não deluxes. E a espinha não deixa abrir completamente plano, o que acarreta dificuldade nas páginas. Sinceramente deveria estar em torno do 60 a 80 reais em vista a qualidade do papel. A história é incrivel, a arte é incrivel merecia uma versão Deluxe, mas como é essa única forma de colecionarmos esse obra, em promocão, comprem!
