I got them for higher viscosity liquids such as simple syrup. No problem. **Q: Is this strong enough to pump mustard** A: I’m using for really thick liquid and I had the same concern, but these are really good. These would squirt your mustard all over your hotdog no problem ;) **Q: Pump big ienough to dispense tartar sauce or cocktail sauce?** A: I doubt it would handle anything with solid pieces in it. But it's pretty powerful. Our problem is it will squirt too much too fast and makes a mess. We have a little sign that says "pump slowly". **Q: Where’s exactly one gallon on jug?** A: 16 US cups is one gallon.
