A well rounded guide for anyone.
The book covers all aspects of fitness in an easy read style. While aimed at people over the age of 50, the journey can be taken by anyone wishing to understand how they can make the most of their time dedicated to building their fitness. Great book.

Nice try but poorly written.
There are some valuable tips in this book. I got tired of reading, imagine you are a car, think of a building, using a resistance band is like stretching a rubber band.... However if you skip all those analogous paragraphs you may get something out of this book. Kindle version only cost me 79pence, so not bad value.

Avoid
Waste of money. I was hoping for some insights, hints or tips. I got nothing from this apart from it constantly stating the bleeding obvious. For UK readers, they’ll remember Swiss Tony from The Fast Show…it felt like that. Utter drivel. I’ve read hundreds of books over the years and this is easily in the bottom 1.

This book has an effective writing style with accessible information that's enjoyable to read but it does not include any routines with step-by-step instructions other than the 3-day per week workout plan at the end. I had to look up "Russian twist" because the plan is not that detailed. Overall still give it 4 stars

This book provides the blueprint and motivation for men to achieve our health, fitness, and wellness goals as we age. I am in my late 50s and have read several fitness and diet books. There are not many books on the market that I have seen that address the three pillars (health, fitness, wellness) but the author of this book makes it clear that it is essential and non-negotiable that you MUST address all elements (food, diet, stress, sleep, hormones, etc.) if you want to be successful on your personal journey of aging with ensuring maximum level of vitality. This book provides the tenets that you can tailor and personalize for your entry point into this journey. This book also explores some difficult topics that some aging men experience but avoid talking about (testosterone, prostate, etc.) This book provides explanation and motivation for seeking the right support to resolve these issues and put you back on track to achieve your health, fitness, and wellness goals- This book was an easy read for me as each of the chapters are methodically presented to build off each other to further comprehension of the information/concepts that were discussed. I challenge any male over 40 years of age that reads this book, that you will come away motivated and armed with the information ready to begin or tweak your current journey for health, fitness, and wellness- I’m motivated ………… this is a new day for me in my journey! EXERCISE AND FITNESS FOR MEN AFTER 50 provides a good overview of men's health, what to expect and how to manage for over 50's. Everything from diet, to hormones, lifestyle and of course, exercise is covered in the quick read. The content is well researched, however, I think the book could include illustrations, particularly explaining exercise safety.

I gifted this to my husband and he loved it. It was really informative and had a cool way of encouraging doable fitness. Even though it said “for men over 50,” I couldn’t put it down. This author talks about health and fitness in a really accessible way. We both got tons of solid guidance and motivation from it. No shame or blame. Good read, great guide, good gift.

This is a good book for men just starting to exercise for the first time. Very very basic information, most of which I already knew. If you are new to exercise or don’t understand the basics of exercise and your body then this book is ok.
