One of the answers was that they do not use bpa in their cans. so why isn't it mentioned anywhere in the discription?

Due to recent passage of legislation applying California Prop 65 provisions to bisphenol A, which provides no "safe harbor" level for oral exposure, Wild Planet has elected to remove the "No BPA used in can lining" from all of our products.  This though, gave many of our customers the idea we may have returned to using cans with a BPA lining.  That is not true.  Our linings are still formulated without BPA.

Wild caught or farm raised?

Wild sockeye salmon is caught in the wild, meaning; it is not crammed in with alot of farmed fish who don't get the opportunity to have any freedom....also the  wild sockeye, get deep red colored meat, only from what has been eaten in the wild. Farmed salmon ONLY gets red colored meat from what they are fed with red dye also usually have been fed antibiotics,not to mention you don't really get your omega 3 like you do get with the wild. Unfortunately most restaurants and grocery stores,even some fish markets only carry the farmed. 1) wild salmon,unless smoked or canned is seasonal. 2) wild Sockeye is expensive. Sustainable means it was put on ice as soon as it was caught, then usually packaged when it get to shore.If it's pole caught- it will say pole caught chances are because it makes the price go up. Sockeye is only 2nd to King salmon and is known for beautiful red color, rich in omega 3 and chances are thats why there will also be alot of oil when you open the can. I could go on and on. Hope this helps you decide. I have yet to try this brand because I can still purchase fresh.Also I have researched the wild Alaskan Salmon because I was shocked when I learned how unheathly and often diseased farmed Salmon can be. Hope this response helps.Forgot to mention I like the fact this is caught and canned only in the USA. Always be sure it's Wild Alaskan - or you will most probably be eating farmed from Chile!! I want the heathiest choice, am sure you do too.

Does tin Box contain biphosphel-a?

I received an official statement from the company clarifying what they mean by "no BPA" which they no longer printer on the cans.  It mostly doesn't contain it but when they had an independent tester check, there were traces.  Please contact the company to receive this information.  It's not a yes or no answer.
