Great
These are great. Very good for paint removal on metal but also very good for resurfacing a griddle top! I used it on my Blackstone and it cleaned it quickly back to bare metal

excellent for removing surface rust from a truck frame
There are so many different brands of this type of product. I don't know if this is better or worse than the others. This worked excellent for removing surface rust from a truck frame. I tried using some flap type sanding discs and they worked but loaded up quickly and then were very inefficient. These discs worked great initially but then continued to work well as the disc is sacrificial and works till it is worn down to nothing. It works best on flat surfaces. On jagged objects it catches and rips apart quickly. Used on flat surfaces it does not break off in chucks. I used 2" quick change discs with a mandrel to get in the tighter areas but it is slower going and those seem to load up. I believe it is the higher rpm of the 4.5" discs that allow the loaded parts of the disc to break away and continue to work efficiently.

These work really for the price!
Used these to strip 4 layers of paint and rust out of the seams of a steel cargo trailer. For the price, you can't beat it.

Efficient and Easy to Use for Paint Stripping
I recently used the TOVERKAU 10 Pack 4.5 inch Strip Discs for my angle grinder to strip the old paint on my 1942 GPW Jeep, and they were fantastic. These discs are incredibly efficient and easy to use, making the paint removal process much quicker and less labor-intensive. The quality of the discs is excellent—they held up well under heavy use and provided consistent performance throughout the job. They did a great job of stripping away the old paint without damaging the underlying surface, which is crucial for a vintage vehicle like my GPW Jeep. For anyone needing to strip paint or rust from metal surfaces, I highly recommend the TOVERKAU Strip Discs. They are a reliable and effective solution that made my restoration project much more manageable. 🚙🔧🛠️

Strips milling scale like nobody's business, but also wears down like nobody's business - wear PPE
Had never used these before, so I bought them to see how well they strip milling scale off angle iron and flat plate vs. a 40-grit flap disc, which was my previous go-to for that job. Immediately, I discovered that it's almost comical how quickly these discs strip milscale off 2" angle iron. It was like magic. I was saying "Wow! Look at this thing go!" About 2 seconds after that, as my face, arms and shop were pelted with pieces of the disc as they wore off I was saying "Glad I have goggles on...faceshield would've been better. OK...this is different...it's working...how long will it work?" The answer is: Roughly 6 feet of a piece of 2" angle iron. That was the job I was using these for. Sanding down 2" x 72" pieces of angle iron before chopping them up. These discs strip anything with extreme prejudice. They leave a semi-rough surface, but that surface is spotless. These discs leave the metal almost mirror-shiny. That rust/milscale vaporizes. As others have said, the really nice thing about these discs is that they don't load up, they are sacrificial. So, you always have a fresh cutting edge. Grinding metal is an inherently filthy operation. The dust goes everywhere. With these discs, you'll also have small pieces of "filaments" from the disc everywhere, along with the dust. The discs wear down quickly, which is kind of a pain in the butt when you're in the zone and just want to bust out the grinding part of the job, which almost nobody likes. Do they work better than flap discs? Yes, in my opinion. They strip faster and they don't load up. You have full cutting capability until the disc wears out, which sadly comes too quickly. There is no free lunch. It's a mindset thing. Be prepared to swap out to a new disc about every 10 minutes or so, depending on how fast you work/how many linear feet per minute you are trying to grind. In my case, I was stripping angle iron in prep for chopping it into smaller lengths and eventually being rattle can painted. If you're trying to build baby-butt-smooth metal structures, this is not the disc for you. As others have said, these type of discs are sold under dozens of brand names. Buy whatever is cheapest and/or has a coupon. The trick with these Amazon made overseas wear item type products is to find the cheapest thing that works well and then reorder a truckload of it before the price goes up.
