Don't understand the negative reviews
Bought this phone having read too many reviews of all simple phones for the elderly. I needed this for my 87 year old father and it did exactly what I wanted it to. The numbers are big and easy to press and the voice repeats aloud the number you press. The charging dock is incredibly helpful, no fiddly cables to plug in. The ring tone is loud. I really do not understand any negative comments. You get a good product for the price you pay. Signal and coverage so far have been great. My father lives in the middle of the countryside where signal quality is terrible, my SMART phone always loses coverage but I have been able to phone him with absolutely no trouble or signal drop out whatsoever. A great phone for anyone who needs help with mobile technology and just wants a basic, big button, easy to use, loud phone.

Has "Talking Buttons"
Take care when reading reviews as there are reviews for the C1 and C1+ mixed in with reviews for the A400 4G. I got this artfone A400 4G Big Button Mobile Phone for my sister who has macular degeneration and she appreciated the big buttons and also what the description fails to mention, a great feature in that this phone has "Talking Numbers" i.e. a clear voice announces the numbers as they are pressed. (this is in addition to the side button which will announce the time) This is excellent for people with poor eyesight. I feel, as others have commented, that the fonts could be larger. It was fairly simple to set up. The charging cradle is quite light so I fixed it to the table with double sided sticky pads to keep it from moving . I would think that with the cost of BT calls and the digital switch over from copper lines in Jan. 2027, many older folk will use mobiles like this as their landline, keeping it permanently at home so it would be handy if these pads were included. One gripe, the charging cable is on the short side.

Perfect for all ages! If your a fan of low tech..fab!
Fab little phone for my 10 year olds first phone. It has an SOS button on the back so perfect for an emergency situation.. I got the docking station as this was easiest for my kid to remember to charge. (He's dyslexic, forgetful with slight ADHD) I'm not about keeping up with the Jonesizz so this was a perfect fit for us until trust was earned for a slight upgrade! A neighbour was chuffed to know this was available to buy and had me order him one too.

Very poor battery life of around 24hrs in standby.
Battery only lasting around 24 hours in standby so clearly not of any use. Don't know if this is normal but the one supplied only last around 24 hrs so has had to be returned. Reluctant to order another in case they are all may be the same? Cannot suggest you purchase the phone on my own experience.

Easy and LOUD
I came across this phone while researching a phone with a loud ring, and with a loud “speaker“ for people who are hard of hearing. I liked that, while it is a mobile phone, it sits in a cradle, which makes it look like a landline phone and gives it a place to live so it won’t get lost. Setting it up was very easy, the instructions were clear, and it was quite intuitive. The operating system is a little bit like an old school Nokia phone, so “channelling” my brain from the late 90s, I managed to set up some numbers on speed dial, change the ringtone and the time without reading the instructions! This made the process really easy. For those not at all tech-savvy I think you’d manage the set up ok following the instructions. I would really recommend this phone for people who need a phone that is loud, either because they have hearing issues or because they are placing this phone in a noisy environment. I would also recommend this phone for people who need a mobile phone but don’t need a smart phone. I am using a Giffgaff Sim in it, and that comes in a variety of sizes so allowed me to choose a size that would fit in their phone properly. Interestingly, this is also a dual Sim phone so you could set it up with more than one Sim to make sure that you had coverage wherever you were. I’m really pleased with this, and I would recommend it.

SIM card too big had to return it.
Seemed like a really nice handset when it arrived. The recipient was really happy until I went to put the SIM card in, it would fit so had to return it 😞

Great for elderly people!
Bought this for my 93 year old Dad who struggled to see the screen on his old Nokia and couldn't get on with an Android phone. This seems perfect! Have had a play with it and the phone itself is nice and big with large and easy to press buttons. It's actually quite light too which is a plus. One thing to note - I had to changing the "Input method to "Abc" so match the style of his old Nokia and typing by pressing one button multiple times to get the right letter. To do this, start writing a message and then press the # key once. Then find Abc in the list and press Number 4 on the phone to select it. The screen itself seems decent enough although it would be nice to increase the font size even more. I had to turn the contrast down from full to about half way to make it easier to see. Other than that, really happy with this for my Dad

For old person its good.
We got this for relative woth dementia. Old mobile was acting up and kept going off so we couldn't get hold of her. Turns out she was turning it off in error then couldn't turn back on. This is a decent phone with larger keys than usual. Very simple to use, she still turns it off though so get a landline too in the end. Dementia is an awful thing, stripe the person you know of all their logic and memories. Good phone.
