Perfect kit to repair my 5 year old Sony Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds. Included tools made swapping the included batteries easy.

After a faulty update my batteries didn't hold a charge anymore. The set comes with 2 replacement batteries, tools and glue to seal the headphones back up. You'll need a hot air gun though to loosen up the factory glue. There are a lot of tutorials on how to change the batteries. My headphones have been charging and working for over 6 months now without any problems and you wouldn't be able to tell, that they have been tempered with.

I was able to replace the battery with the kit. I cannot say if the battery is good or not for now, it depends how long it will last. The glue is ok, good size and the little dispenser allow to put only a small drop of it. The plastic tools pretty useless, I used a credit card to open the earbuds. It is a overprice kit, probably if you buy the glue and the battery alone you'll save some money (it deserves only 4 stars)

Like many other people I've faced the battery issues with the WF-1000XM4. Sony being the pirates they are, refused to do anything. I'd almost given up but thought I'd give this a try. Process was pretty easy and actually quite enjoyable. The satisfaction of repairing something myself is great. Headphones now working again and have been for the last couple of months.

Bought this to replace my Sony wf-1000XM3 batteries as mine were 5 years old and barely lasting an hour. Watched as many videos as I could and used this kit. It's exceeded my expectations. The batteries are back up to lasting 4-5 hours at least (not done a full test) and everything in the kit (that was needed) worked well. Advice to anyone doing this. Watch the videos repeatedly, take your time and use this kit. Also, the razor blade is (obviously) very sharp!

Does it work? So far, yes. The kit supplied offers more than the required tools to get the job done. Even some small elastic bands to hold the buds together for gluing, if you don't have clamps, are provided. YouTube gives you an idea of what you're going to face, so not spending a few minutes observing one or two tutorials is, of course, folly. With that in mind, it's best to acknowledge that sometimes the things you want to fix haven't seen these videos and, even if they have, may have a rebellious streak in them. I didn't need to disconnect everything as shown in these videos, but there is a very narrow connector cable that, if you decide to leave in place, caution would suggest levering its release catch up, thereby giving it enough room to slide itself out if it feels strained. Your journey to the land of music may well end up cut short in disappointment otherwise. I experienced that not all manufactured items are equal, as the view depicted on these video streams was that nudges with a tool on the sides and the battery floats into your arms like a long-lost lover. Well, the magnet that held the battery down in one of mine didn't agree. Trying to keep a lid on frustration, I encountered a battery declaring squatters’ rights, seemingly stuck down with glue that decided doing its job is all that matters in this world. 'No,' the magnet uttered. 'It's just me.' Not disconnecting everything can make a situation like that a bit more challenging. With the potential for a nudge or pull too far whilst attempting to release a stubborn battery, hoisting it at a greater height than expected may result in the narrow cable deciding that you should have paid it more attention, likely meaning the end of your rescue efforts. Skip steps, but be wary; balancing speed with smarter execution is the way to go. I assumed only the battery in the right earbud needed remedying, as this one died extremely quickly. However, after replacing it, the fact that the left bud, while not as bad, was also in need of attention was highlighted. So far, I'm quite pleased, but only time will reveal the quality of the battery replacements.

Les piles sont vraiment incroyables : après remplacement, mes écouteurs Sony WF-1000XM4 ont retrouvé une autonomie bien supérieure à celle d’origine, même avec la réduction de bruit active activée. Franchement bluffant ! En revanche, les petits outils fournis à côté ne m’ont pas vraiment servi, à part la colle qui s’est avérée utile. J’aurais mis 4 étoiles pour le kit complet, mais 6 si c’était possible rien que pour les piles. Excellent rapport qualité/prix, je recommande sans hésiter.

J'ai hésité à faire cette manipulation car c'est toujours très délicat. Finalement je me suis décidé. J'ai chauffé les écouteurs avec un sèche cheveux, puis sans rien déconnecté j'ai extrait les anciennes batteries pour mettre celles reçues puis avant de recoller j'ai vérifié. Tout fonctionne à merveille et j'ai récupéré plusieurs heures d'écoutes avec mes WF-1000XM4. Ces batteries rapidement reçues valent vraiment la peine. Je conseille vivement.

Nice kit. Use the included razor blade to open the Sony WF-1000XM4. If warmed enough, it's a breeze to open. Afterwards, and once glued, use the rubber band to help the glue set. No opinion on the batteries themselves.
