Been using this color for at least 15 years or so. Only problem - & this is true of ALL red hairdyes, I believe - after a few weeks the color fades somewhat. But it's so gorgeous when it's fresh!

In my 30 years of experience with home hair coloring and attempted to achieve the perfect red, this is the BEST product I've used.

I've used this brand multiple times and always ended up with bright, vibrant color. This time, I did the mixing and applying and while I sat I thought it looked....orange. I looked at the box - Red Fire. I looked closer at the tubes themselves - COPPER. so now I have mildly copper hair and not the red I usually go with and of course, that requires more expensive treatment to get rid of this copper and make it light enough to do red.

OK this is a very honest review. I initially coloured my hair with Violet using a 40 volume developer but I wanted to go red, so I used red and also used the 40 volume developer but I knew because my hair was darker I was going to have to switch things up that's why I chose for a higher volume developer. And I also made The Choice to leave it in my hair for longer so instead of doing 30 minutes I left it in for an hour. Although my hair is not a true read we did get very pigmented and evenly coated burgundy. I will say on Virgin hair it is recommended that you do use a higher volume developer just so the colour payoff is better and depending on how dry your hair is or how damaged your hair already is you can leave the product on a bit longer. I will eventually do another round of the red just so i can achieve that true red colour that I would like. also, I used 2 boxes and could have used 3. if you're using only one Box you're probably not gonna get the payoff that you want.

I had yo do a bleach bath first. It didn’t turn red with just putting the color on the 1b wig. But I mixed it with magenta and got the color I was going for

I tried it, it literally did nothing to my hair
