Eat Like a Girl: 100+ Delicious Recipes to Balance Hormones, Boost Energy, and Burn Fat Review: Don’t Hesitate—Order Your New Favorite Cookbook Now! - I was so excited for this book to come out, and it has NOT disappointed! It’s hard to know where to start with how much I love this book, but what I feel is most fantastic for me personally is that as a vegetarian trying to do Keto…Dr Mindy (and team!) have shown me it’s possible, when I was pretty well convinced it wasn’t. Dr Mindy has made it important that those of us who desire to adhere to our ideals and needs AND enjoy the benefits of ketosis are seen, and supported to do so. I am impressed, and forever grateful. As you would expect, the recipes are organized by ketobiotoc and hormone feasting, along with a collection of fast breaking recipes. There are dessert recipes, even!! 😁 It is SO easy to plan your shopping and meals for the week ahead—which, for me, makes it fun (and the most do-able of any dietary plan I’ve ever taken on). There is also a section about setting up your pantry, and the many of the more unique ingredients are repeat performers—which I totally appreciate. I went ahead and splurged on the spiral bound edition and it was worth every penny. It’s just such a functional option for a cookbook, and beyond that, the cover has a beautiful, satiny finish which had a lovely feel in the hand and will also handle a wiping if necessary. I just love approaching the book, for both cooking time and planning time. In true Dr Mindy style, every single sentence in the book is packed with information, function, and empowering intention. Another thing I really appreciate about this book is that you encounter Dr Mindy’s teachings and way of thinking in yet another context (when actually preparing your food!), which allows it to land and unfurl in such a deep way. I am enjoying and connecting with my both my cooking and my meals in such a nurturing, nourishing way. Body AND soul. This is not like anything I have ever experienced and I LOVE it. Okay…now I’ll talk about the FOOD!!!!! Delicious. Approachable. Varied. Simple. Satisfying. SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. There are recipes that are really pretty quick and perfect for weeknights as well as more involved, weekend “project” meals. And broths! There are drink recipes to support you on longer fasts! And desserts!!! (I LOVE to bake, which I’ve largely given up but I’m so excited to try the flourless torte with caramel sauce this weekend.). If you are committed to walking this path and balancing your hormones and eating in this way--get the book. It will support you one thousand percent. And just like everything Dr Mindy does, this cookbook done with so much intention, smarts, and love. Review: Reclaim your health with delicious food (and some fasting) - “Eat Like a Girl” details how to tune in to your body’s hormonal rhythms and achieve your health goals through cyclical fasting and eating patterns. There’s an easy-to-follow 30-day plan, recommended eating guidelines for each phase, and then the recipes! They’re gorgeously photographed and equally delicious. I’ve already tried several of them—and they’re super tasty. My husband and teenage son were just as enthusiastic—these aren’t “mom’s on a weird diet” recipes. Following Dr. Mindy’s fasting and eating guidelines, I’ve lost the menopausal weight that I thought I was stuck with. I wish I’d discovered this information before (when I still had my cycle), because the information about working with our hormones is amazing. But even if you’re peri- or post-menopausal, following the 30-day plan in “Eat Like a Girl” can reveal your highest health potential. I’m 56, and after following this plan for a month, I feel better than I have in about 10 years. If you buy only one of Dr. Mindy’s books, this should be the one—it contains the super doable info you need to follow her plan, and then adds awesome recipes. This book is truly a feast for the eyes, and it just might change your life.

Breath Like a Girl!
Time to exhale ladies! If you are a one-stop shopper type this book was written for you. The first 100 pages of Eat Like a Girl is full of charts, food label information, and a plan to cycle your fasting and eating. It's a a great starter source if you want to jump in and get started. I've been following the fasting recommendations of "Fast Like a Girl" for over a year. I love how I feel and have changed how I feel about being a women. These principles have allowed me learn about myself, how I can help myself, and how to use my hormones to my advantage. I've 99% improved sleep, mood stabilization, stress management, lactose intolerance, Irritable bowel symptoms, painful and heavy periods, and all from focusing on my gut biome, fasting, and avoiding the big 3 as much as possible (seed oils, processed wheat, and refined sugar). I love "Eat Like a Girl" because it's my kitchen bible! The rest of the book is full of recipes. I admit I find them overwhelming as a southeastern female raised on southern food. My first thought was, "I don't have any of this in my kitchen" accept for some chia seeds and chick peas. There is a good reason for this-Dr. Mindy brought these recipes to the table with intention; to diversify our gut biome and support our hormones. Once you read the book the pieces will fit together. Even if you haven't read "Fast Like a Girl" and just want to start eating better, "Eat Like a Girl" will inspire you and get you started in this food revolution. Stay Calm and Fast On! -Mandy Palmer

It's a must-read for females of all ages
I really enjoyed reading this book and have found a lot of the recipes useful. I'd say about 2/3rds of the book is the recipes and the other 1/3 is super useful info about the female cycle and hormones. I've tried several of the recipes and so far am impressed! It does have a lot of vegan options and not a ton of meat recipes which is sad, but overall I loved the book. I got one for each of my female family members for Christmas! It's a must-read for females of all ages

Good info - to a point
I love Dr. Mindy. I’ve been reading her books and listening to her podcast for 2 yrs now. This is a beautiful book. But I was hoping for a cookbook with “everyday ingredients” - living in the rural south I can’t make hardly any of these recipes. Most contain an ingredient I just don’t have access to. For example - fish sauce, sheep’s milk, fenugreek leaves, quinoa, lentils, white miso, tamari, miso paste, tofu, tapioca starch, red curry paste, Calabrian peppers, goat cheese, furikake … Great info in the book but the recipes are not going to be useful to me.

Everything I needed and more!!!
I never write reviews for stuff I buy on Amazon but I came on just now to order this book for the other women in my life. I think every woman needs this book from the moment they start menstruating. I love the colorful images and tables and lists that say exactly what to do and to eat at different stages of the cycle and how to apply it also in phases of menopause. Eating for my hormones and to fuel my body is made so easy with this book. This book and the principles it teaches have been life changing as I continue my health journey. I’m excited to try the recipes as well. If you’re trying to decide between this and her other books, choose this one and listen to Fast Like a Girl as an audiobook. This book has EVERYTHING you need to know and how to practically apply it everyday.

Worth it
I loved her Fast Like A Girl book and this was just as wonderful. I really appreciated the recipes and permission to eat things that make sense for my body, not restricting bc science follows a man's calorie requirements.

A complete resource for your fasting journey!
I love the layout of this book! I’m new to Dr Mindy’s teachings but did read the Menopause Reset and decided to give this a try since it not only includes recipes, but HOW to fast and the keys to success with easy to understand research-based facts. It also includes her 28 day reset program in the back. It’s truly like getting 3 books in one. I haven’t tried many recipes, since I’ve only had it a week, but I like that the recipes tell you what fasting cycle they are for but also what dieting style (GF/Keto/Vegan). I will say that some of the ingredients have been a challenge for me to find in my rural Pennsylvania world, so I may have to order those or skip them. The only other drawback is it’s not a “cheap” diet to follow but honestly, it’s so expensive to eat healthy with any recipe. I consider it an investment in myself AND heck, with eating only one or two meals per day, I’m saving money that way. 😂🤷♀️ I can honestly say this is the ONLY cookbook that I read front to back and actually enjoyed. Well done!!
