Review: Don't expect support if you live in the UK - Initially thought great things about this lock. I bought two and installed the first one which worked well for about a year. Had automatic firmware updates on so that my lock would always have the latest version. Now the fingerprint reader will not activate when the lock is closed which means you have to unlock it using the app or the keypad. Contacted U-Tec support and was told they don't ship replacement parts to the UK. At this point I thought this isn't great but I have a second lock so I can just use that one. Brand new in the box opened it up, loaded the latest firmware as part of the install process and the fingerprint reader is not working exactly the same as the old one. You can use the app to register a new fingerprint and the scanner works just fine so it's obviously not the hardware that's the issue. Contacted support again telling that my effectively brand new lock was not working and was told that because I waited over a year from the initial purchase to install it then the warranty isn't valid. If you are happy to use the lock without fingerprint functionality then the lock will work great for you but you are paying a premium for it. Also my advice is try the lock out first before you drill and cut holes in your door.

**Q: Can I rekey the key core to a primus locks schlage core?**
A: Experimentally, I found that there seem to be two different types of U-Bolt Pro cylinders, so that the bolt comes with either a Schlage-like keyway or a Kwikset-like keyway (at random). I was personally unable to successfully re-key the Schlage-like keyway to match an OEM Schlage C keyway. A professional locksmith succeeded in re-keying the Kwikset-like keyway to match an OEM Kwikset 980 SmartKey deadbolt (using the Kwikset 980 as the new global key, and discarding the Ultraloq keys). If you contact Ultraloq customer service, they will send you a new cylinder (Schlage-like or Kwikset-like), which you can then bring to a professional locksmith along with your home's existing key. The locksmith's re-key will cost around $25. I recommend that you do not try to re-key yourself, because the Ultraloq cylinders are proprietary and don't match OEM dimensions. Hope this helps.

**Q: Can this be used for double doors?**
A: If you have double doors they make a lock that installs on the top corner of one of the doors usually the least used door. It can only be unlocked from inside and pretty much stays locked all the time except when both doors are needed to open. I also use these with roommates on one key locks on my balcony door just to feel safe. They also make a flushmount style that takes little more skill to install. I myself have found double doors can be pushed in if one of the door isn’t locked firmly in place. They aren’t expensive and pretty easy to install hardest part lining up the lock to latch. **Q: can one bridge do multiple locks? like front and back door.**
A: No it can NOT.

I bought the UL1 and I bolt pro for the same door.
They each need a bridge.

**Q: What happens if the batteries go dead? Am I locked out?**
A: You won't be locked out,
1. When the Lock shows the "Low Battery" alarm display, don't worry, you will be able to open your door for 1,000 more times, you will have more than enough time to replace the batteries.
2. This item have a function "Micro-USB For Emergency Power".

Initially thought great things about this lock. I bought two and installed the first one which worked well for about a year. Had automatic firmware updates on so that my lock would always have the latest version. Now the fingerprint reader will not activate when the lock is closed which means you have to unlock it using the app or the keypad. Contacted U-Tec support and was told they don't ship replacement parts to the UK. At this point I thought this isn't great but I have a second lock so I can just use that one. ACTUALIZACIÓN 2/DIC/25 : Después de varias actualizaciones de software y retroalimentación de servicio al cliente ya ha estado funcionando bien la cerradura. La batería ha funcionado bien, y el puente de WIFI ya trabaja correctamente a distancia. El tiempo de cierre se ha podido extender, aunque al no tener sensor de cierre se seguirá cerrando sola sin importar si esta abierta, pero bueno, en resumen ya funciona. De inicio se ve práctica y buena. Antes tenía otra marca que por ser comprada por YALE dejo de funcionar en México. No compren YALE. En esta que parecía buena, esta llena de errores tontos. - No puede detectar la puerta abierta, se cierra sola y siempre pega el pasador. - El tiempo de cierre es mínimamente configurarle. - Segun abre por proximidad... si, lo hace lejos y al llegar a la cerradura ya esta cerrada de nuevo. - El adaptador WIF siempre esta en error. Lo dejas funcionando y al rato ya se desconecto otra vez. - La bateria una vez que se baja siempre marca que esta baja aunque las cambies. Es una pena, pudo ser buen producto. Lo único buen es que la lectura de huella funciona aceptablemente bien en la mayoría de las personas. La opción de traer llave mecánica lo salva a uno de sus propios errores. Compre tres cerraduras para sustituir las anteriores AUGUST que eran muy buenas hasta que la empresa la compró YALE y decidió que solo funcionaran en EEUU y Canadá, pero no en México. Absurda política.
