Perfect for Chicken Coop Automation – Safe and Reliable!
I used the VEVOR 12V Linear Actuator (20-inch high speed, 220 lbs) as a door operator for my chicken coop, and it works perfectly for this purpose. With its 220 lb force, I paired it with a cable system to lift the door. This setup ensures the cable goes slack when the door closes, preventing any risk of harming my chickens—a big concern for me! The actuator operates at just the right speed (0.55"/s), slow enough to give the chickens plenty of time to move out of the way, which is a crucial safety feature. Installation was straightforward, and the unit feels sturdy and well-built. If you’re looking to automate your chicken coop or need a reliable actuator for a similar application, this is an excellent choice. It’s powerful, smooth, and safe—exactly what I needed for the job!

Just what I needed to hide my TV
These actuators do exactly what they are advertised to do. They extend and retract. Used them to raise/lower a piece of artwork to hide an outdoor TV. Everything you need except mounting screws are included in the box. This includes 110v AC power to both actuators and a tiny little remote. They go up/down in near perfect synchronization. So I used these to raise and lower a piece of artwork over an outdoor TV. I paired them with a pair of industrial drawer track rails and together they’re raising and lowering a ~40# artwork in a very controlled manner. It’s the only solution I could find and wow does it work. My real complaints? - they are sloooooow. - there is no way to auto adjust where the extension stops. This means I need to watch it to manually stop them else they would hit the ceiling. - the minor pet peeve that the up/down buttons on the remote should be reversed to better orient to how you hold the remote. When the letters eventually wear off it won’t be as intuitive but it’s a nit complaint. - The solution could also benefit from a physical switch on the power supply. I worry about what will happen when I lose the remote or it eventually dies. There’s a lot of risk on that tiny little remote.

Work great if you do the math...
If you figure out the angles correctly and the load calculations, (There is a calculator available on the net), They work good. Need to watch lateral forces when fully extended. A little slow but better than me lifting my 150 lb. trap door

The two actuators are not interconnected in any way and may operate at different speeds.
The two actuators are not synchronized. One of the actuators takes about 2 seconds longer to extend than the other, making it unusable for my intended application. The listing says they are high speed. .35"/second means it takes 3 seconds to move one inch and the actuators are 30 inches--so a minute and a half. Worked with their service desk. They are polite and respond within 48 hours. I first contacted them on August 12 with this message: "I hooked the actuators up for a trial run, and the right actuator is as much as 5" shorter than the left during extension. Once connected firmly to the Linear Guide rails, this will cause something to break." After many iterations, I got this response on Sep 3: "What we want to explain to you is that this is a DC motor, and the speed may vary depending on the load and friction. This is a normal phenomenon.Thank you for your understanding." I cannot imagine an application where this wouldn't matter

Not amazing
Speed was not the same on both sides and 1 broke internally after a few uses

These actuators are actually ok. Not fast. Not particularly easy to install but they work, which is more than can be said about most VEOVR products. However, the 2 reasons I am giving them a 1-star is because VEVOR's customer support/after sales service is possibly the worst you could ever encounter and I swear is run by a dumb AI bot, or they just hope you will give up and leave them alone. Secondly, they do not provide an Unsubscribe link in the promotional/marketing emails, which is illegal in Australia and is a potential breach of the SPAM Act. Given they have no Australian presence and operate directly out of Shanghai, there is no way you can control how your personal information is used or sold or distributed to 3rd party data miners.

Met deze pistons maakte ik dat het dak van een camper automatisch heft en daalt. Met weinig dekens lukt het prima.
