Great spoon for making a roux without scratching my big stainless steel gumbo pot. The spatula curves up VERY slightly, but the edge is straight. I would actually prefer a 16 inch, but the 14 inch will work fine. Beautiful spoon, and excellent quality. It was just dry wood, so I immediately soaked it with oil. So glad to find this.

Love it!
I purchased this to replace a wok-styled wooden spatula I've had for 10 years. This new spatula is so much better than the one it replaced that I wish I'd made the switch years ago. It's lighter, thinner and has a better feel. The spatula edge is thin enough to flip a pancake, and there even an indentation in the handle for my thumb. My only concern is that it may not be rugged enough to last the next 10 years, but time will tell.
