Not necessarily a lace front it's definitely needed for a full wigs securing . However lace fronts do require the proper glue

I blow dry my hair (very close to being dry) and then use gel

This is not an adhesive. I use it to give hold to my hair style and not on a lace front wig. I do not believe this would hold down a lace front wig.

It doesn’t flake or turn white. If you glob it on it will clump. If you rub it on your hands and then rub into your hair it it blends well. It’s powerful so use sparingly until you figure how much is needed
