There was already a vent installed on the door so I just took it off and the kitties have been using it as a kitty door. It looked a little unfinished so I went looking for a cat door that would fit the 12x12 cutout. Gave up after a while then stumbled on this. Works perfect! Comes as a grey color, I painted it white. I knew darn well that latex paint doesn't stick to metal but went for it anyway. Learn from my mistakes...if you want to paint it find a spray paint meant for metal!
