Review: Long story short I have a medium size head and Shoei M size helmet was squeezing my eye balls out. Factory pads are 35 mm and these are 31mm and it fixed all the issues! Helmet still fits snug, but is no longer painful to take on and off and does not press too hard on the cheek bones. Works perfect now! I wore it for hours the other day on a long ride and no problems and it does not twist while turning your head at normal highway speed. I got the xl rf1200 and it came with the 39mm, I had to order the 31mm as the 39s were too big for my cheeks. I would suggest going to a local shop and trying one on before purchasing. **Q: Are these real? I don't see the pull tabs for the emergency release that I'd on the 1200, these lookike Qwest pads (I own both helmets)** A: They are real. They do have the red releases.
