A History of Interior Design (5rd Edition) /anglais

My college course required it as our reading material. However, for anyone who is looking to learn more about interior design, I highly recommend this book. It’s easy to read and is very interesting to learn how some of the industry theories where developed.

This book covers interiors of homes, churches and other architectural designs in an in-depth manner. It was a requirement for my History of Interior Design class. Provides extensive knowledge from most countries of the world for furniture, color of interiors and materials used.

the contents are brief, and the writing is sometimes pretentious and unnecessarily complicated.

The book arrived a bit damp. The open side of the book shows waves. My research says this is the result of moist damage. Some parts are not clean and marked.

A superb book. Covers the entire history of interior design from ancient Egypt to 2024. Scholarly but it's a nice easy read. Hundreds of excellent photos. Included quite a few projects that were new to me. Great to see that important female designers (Eileen Gray, Lilly Reich, Eva Jiricna etc) are given due recognition. I think this is a book that will appeal not just to professionals and students but also to anyone interested in the subject. The book arrived in perfect condition.
