Bought this for my husband and it took him all day to put it together. This thing is super cool! It shifts into different speeds and the fan spins slower or faster with what gear you’re in. Also, you can see the pistons moving. 10/10 I would recommend.

I just finished building this set and I have to say I'm even more impressed at the end than I was at the start. The quality of the instructions is extremely high, almost (95%) as good as Lego and vastly better than a lot of the knock-offs out there. The ~1800 plastic pieces were all extremely high quality, too. I found one that had been over-polished (no burrs anywhere on this set, again in contrast to some of the earlier Lego clones). I've never given a five-star review to a non-Lego building block set before. As far as the build, it was tremendous fun. Lego just doesn't offer a set like this, but if you're looking for a set that shows an internal combustion engine works, Mould King offers FOUR, from about $50 to $100. At the end, it worked beautifully after some careful checking (there's one red axle where the motor connects that can get pushed too far into the set and will prevent the pistons from moving properly). There are some fun details: the oil filter, the chain tensioner, and the metal-plated pieces all add to the overall effect. The only downside is that there's probably a better way of building the overhead camshaft. The short axles used introduce a bit too much flex and make it hard for the pieces to push down on the spring-loaded valves. The simplest solution I came up with is to only install one spring on the double-valves (you'll know what I mean when you build it), which is still sufficient to allow the valves to close but makes it easier for the cam to push them open. I won't be deducting a star for that, though. Instead, I'm trying to figure out which Mould King set to buy next...

Great lego set that definitely keeps you busy. Very cool design and we're anxious to see the final product!

The model itself is an great product, however, the parts are scattered across many bags, nothing is numbered, nothing is labeled, parts are mixed within bags, overall is a disorganized packaging mess and there are no instructions. Additionally, some of the parts were not precision cut so they didn't quite fit. We had to do some little sanding, notching or make minor modifications. The most frustrating part is that there is supposed to be four cam gears and only three were in the packaging. I've contacted the company and they have not responded. My friend spent many hours assembling this (he has 50+ yeas experience building and restoring cars) only to find a missing part that prevents the gears from working correctly. He gave me a look of incredulity when I suggested he disassemble and allow me to return it. However, since it doesn't work correctly, I suspect that is what will happen. I gave Mould King the chance to make it right but they have been unresponsive and since I have a limited return window this is what it will come to.
