Good quality, sturdy fairly priced piece of equipment
At last! A sturdy bit of equipment worth every penny. There has a variety of exercises that can be performed on it, courtesy of the inbuilt pulleys and the adaptability of moving the bench seat. Really pleased with it. If you like to lift heavy weights, this machine is not for you.

Overpriced
It is a good little product. Easy to use and store away, I just think it's massively overpriced for what it is. Also the delivery was a day late and it come without the DVD, how to work it, fitness routines, etc. (Which was essential) I contacted Amazon customer services, they forward me on to the seller and I've had nothing in return. Really really bad customer service. Jokers ๐คฌ

Compact, well built, versatile
I saw this product a few years ago but couldnโt afford it and forgot where Iโd seen it. This time when I saw it I bought it. Sturdy, well built, compact and versatile. A bit on the heavy side, but not too difficult to manoeuvre about. Comes with one arm pre fixed but not the other! So although instructions a bit limited it was put together quickly. There are references to PDFโs (Adobe Reader) of workouts. Still canโt locate any (using iPad). There are many pictures of DVDโs when Googling. They donโt exist any more. All exercises are online, therefore you have to sign up (for free) to access them which is a bit of a pain. Still once youโve got the routine worked out you wonโt need to log in every time. Although it is based around sets of 15 repetitions, what it does not say, is that if like me, aged 62, you find this a bit much to start off with, then do as many repetitions as you can and build it up to the 15 reps in the online videos.

A long review full of detail.
Great for a home workout if you have little time or not a lot of a space. A long review to give you a full idea, and maybe some advice on using it properly as purchasing any home workout equipment is an expensive investment that should be thoroughly considered. Hopefully this helps. Why it gets 5 stars (Background) I've worked out since I was 14 (32 now) competed in various sports a professional level utilising strength training and size building programs to move up weight classes etc. I've worked out in commercial gyms, spit and sawdust places with just tons of free weights and basic machines and had 2 full sized multi gyms. One cost ยฃ299 and one cost ยฃ449. I would rate this above the ยฃ299 one, and I dont have room for the ยฃ449 one anymore. I now have two children, so no spare room in a 3 bedroom house and a busy career so for me working out for the past two years has been a fold away bench, and a set of adjustable dumbbells. The review: I saw this, read up some reviews etc, purchased and in 2days it arrived. There is some very minimal home set up, you have attach one of the arms but the tools came with it and it took 5-10mins. It comes with a workout chart that even if you don't follow the example 3 workouts provided (I don't) it gives you some awesome ideas for exercises to do in your workouts. I've seen in other reviews that it doesnt offer the resistance needed for a full workout. For someone who at his peak was bench pressing 130kg for 8 reps and shoulder pressing 60kg for 12 reps i find it perfectly suitable for a good workout. You might find for bench pressing and seated row its not quite enough, BUT I use pre-exhausting techniques, doing flyes and seated flyes before I bench and various reverse flys, and single arm rows to pre exhaust my back before seated rows. For every other exercise I am using level 3-5 of the 7 levels. So the resistance is plenty. If you can do level 7 for all exercises you are either a lot bigger and stronger than me - a Lean 14stone 10ibs (206ibs / 93.5kg) Or not using proper form. For example I only bicep curl lvl 4 as found on 5 i was cheating too much. I am sore after every workout - good soreness, my partner has noticed my physique improving, getting back to where it was 2-3 years ago after only 5 weeks of using it. I incorporate 1-2 cardio workouts with 2-3 workouts with this home gym each week and it is so easy to set up each time. It takes less than 30seconds to pick it up, move it to where I use and unfold it. It's relatively light at around 14kg and is sturdy. being able to work out in a busy life is made so much easier with this, some of mine are no longer than 15minutes, others have gone on for 45 to an hour. Who should by this? Those new to working out Those looking to get in shape Those looking to get back into working out Those with limited time or space Even if you have the space for a full multi gym in your home, you would only get a better workout with a ยฃ350+ machine over this in my opinion. I hope this helps

Better than I thought it would be!!
My wife and I decided to create a "mini gym" in our lower level den. This little compact machine is EXACTLY what we were looking for. Our entire family is getting into eating healthy and staying on an exercise regimen. With that being said, my wife and two daughters can use this equipment with very little effort. It is very easy for them to make all the adjustments necessary for their resistance. Like the other reviews say, it is not for body building but it will definitely give definition and tone your muscles. It's not just about the amount of weight that you use but the repetitions. The machine was practically together when it arrived (which I must add was extremely fast and 2 days earlier than expected). We decided to purchase the optional leg attachment and extra bands (kit sold separately) and that arrived a day later and had to be assembled to the main unit. ALL of this took maybe 20 minutes to do! Again this machine is VERY compact and when the leg attachment is not on (goes on and off VERY easily) it folds up in seconds and you can carry it like a suitcase so if you have to move it to another room or slide it under the bed, there are no issues. Yeah the workout DVD is pretty cheesy but aren't they all?? Unless you are using P90X or Insanity of course! The exercise chart is high quality! I was expecting this folded poster-sized paper that you hang on your wall with tape. NO! This is a heavy duty large calendar sized chart. It has individual tabs that target different areas. (Core, Upper Body, Lower Body, etc). Each tab can be moved to the front and it will be displayed easily through the plastic protective cover. The exercises are shown and you can easily see how to adjust the Total Flex in the pictures. At first, just like buying anything online that you have not seen in person, I am always skeptical about these types of machines that make all those "promises," but let me just say this one does deliver if you are looking for a compact, easily usable workout machine that the entire family can use at the same time building some muscle and toning parts of your body. Overall this will give you a GREAT workout. Can't say enough about it. Only regret: Not buying it sooner!

Highly recommended. Compact, sturdy and overall just convenient.
This Bench is amazing. I was skeptical about buying it because I don't trust 'as seen on tv' items. I must say, unless you are a pro body builder, this Home Gym has plenty of resistance for the average guy. Inown this Home Gym and a set of 40lbs dumbbells. So I use the item as a bench for chest presses with dumbbells and I use the cables built in the item for exercises where I cannot lift 40lbs (lateral raises, back raises etc). The bench seems pretty sturdy and well built. I don't know how long the padding will last as I haven't had this item for long time but, I can foresee that i could easily replace the padding in the future so I am not worried about that. What i like the most about it is that it is easy to store. It folds flat but it stands up straight so you can pit it behind a door or in a closet instead of only putting it under the bed. It takes no room in my one bedroom apartment. I am 6'2", 220lbs and use it comfortably. It inclines and declines easily. Overall, i think even just as a bench this item is worth it. It holds up to 300lbs but I have heard of heavier people using it. So, if you are 200lbs and have 2 dumbbels of 50lbs each, you should have no problems. If you are not using dumbbells, then you can be 300lbs and use it with its cables with no problem. With 3 cables attached to one handle, the resistnce seems a little less than my 40lbs dumbbels when doing bicep curls. Cables seem repleceable but opening the side bixes where the cables are is a pain in the neck due to its screws. Not something you would need to do often anyways. You can work your legs too without purchasing the legs attachment. You would use ankle straps to do legs. The legs attachment is good if you can't lift much. Me, with all 3 cables feel very little resistance. If you use 3 cables and only one leg I guess you can get some tone but it does not feel comfirtable and stable when doing that. The leg attachment comes with another attachment that works as a head rest. That one I like, but you can only use one attachment at a time so I keep my headrest on. I would not recommend the leg attachment unless you are rehabing or you are an older individual who just wants to keep muscles from athrophying or 130lbs or less person; at my weight I can't find is resistance usable. I highly recommend this product to keep yourself toned. I would incorporate a set of dumbbells the highest weight you can lift and use the cables for amything less.

Best machine for small places!!!
I am a 51-year-old, fairly fit woman. I purchased this because I live in a small space and wanted something to keep me in shape. First off, this machine works perfectly. It is easy to change "weights" and positions of the bench. The variety of exercises is tremendous. The first few workouts I did were from the DVD. I will say that, although they are good, they only go through one rep of each exercise and they do it extremely fast. That being said, you can pause it to do more, but I am going to write down all the exercises you can do with it and make up my own regime. Ok, when I got to the legs, they were moving so fast I was trying to follow along without pausing the DVD. I hooked up the straps to my legs and then to the machine. I had it on the lightest weight, the gray band, and pulled back on my leg. The strap popped off. I put it back on and pulled the other leg. The strap popped off. I paused the DVD and was thinking there is no way these will stay on especially with stronger bands. I backtracked on the video to watch exactly how they strapped their legs, because they seemed to have no problems. That's when I saw that you need to put the strap around your leg and through the metal thingy the clip is attached to. Then, you need to put the seat all the way in the down position. DUH! Once I did those two things, they worked perfectly. I love this machine, the compactness, the ease of use, and the variety. The only reason I give it 4 starts is because it came with a small tear in the side of the vinyl seat. I called the company to see if I could just replace the seat and they said they don't have parts for it anymore. I need to contact Amazon. I contacted Amazon, but the only choice I had was to keep it or return the whole machine. I decided to return the whole machine because I could tell that with use, this tear will get much larger. Right now it is about 3/4 inch long. Amazon sent me a new machine in two days; however, when I took this out of the box, it too has a tear in close to the same place on the seat. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that the material is not very strong, hence the four stars. Amazon, however, gets five stars for customer service. Even though the product has a tear, I will be keeping it and trying to fix the tear on my own because the product is AWESOME!!

Wonderful Home Gym
This product is wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone. I use it daily and mainly for body toning/strengthening. It does not require much room which makes it perfect to use in an apartment. Take your time with the assembly of the product. That was the only thing I struggled with. Also, when you buy the Thane Total Flex Home Gym, I suggest you buy the Total Flex Pro Accessory Pack separately as well. The accessories, will not be included in the home gym and will consist of a headrest, leg extension attachment and 3 red cables for the leg extension.

Its good for shaping but resistance is way too low to ...
Ok first let me say whoever designed this product is a genius. ..you can work every part of the body..but there is a major problem..the resistance is too low for anyone in shape. Its good for shaping but resistance is way too low to build muscles. If the resistance bands were stronger this piece of equipment would be great.
