Maybe so, but the print is very large - especially compared to almost all bibles in this physical size. This book has 1814 pages, not including the map pages at the end. How can you make a "personal size", "giant" print bible with all the features that this book has - especially the nice, hand-holdable size?My measurements of this black, bonded leather bible is: 1.5 inches thick, 8.75 inches high, and 6 inches wide.The NASB is a great compromise between a very literal translation and a paraphrase, but tends to lean to the more literal side without losing readability. This is an accurate bible suitable for study.I have many bibles this size and on some the font size is probably 7 to 8 and the bible is about the same physical size. I would estimate this bible's actual font size to be about 12 point. To see for yourself before buying this version, do a web search for "bible font size PDF" and compare the 12 point font with the bible that you have now. You will need to print the page to a printer to compare with your bible.So my final summary is this:Good:1. Great personal size2. Good size font - about 11.5 to 12 point font3. The type is nice and dark, making it even easier to read.4. The paper is a very creamy white that is lined up with the lines on the opposite side. This enhances readability.5. It is basic, but very good quality paper and print as well as easy-to-read size. The end of the verse reference system is good--shows where there are similar passages elsewhere in the bible. There is a concordance. The cover will not be durable for heavy use but the binding otherwise is VERY GOOD. It is sewn--there is a technical name for that, but as long as you don't have ultra-high expectations for the cover, you will really like it. I would suggest that this book be covered with clear Contact paper or the edges sealed with clear packing tape because they are sharp. But it looks better the way it is. This version only has 3 maps.I got this book because I bought "Strong's Concise Concordance And Vine's Concise Dictionary Of The Bible Two Bible Reference Classics In One Handy Volume" based on the King James Bible and needed a large print KJV for reference. The print on the pages is also a tad light or thin but completely readable and the larger print is very easy on the eyes. With daily use, i don't see this Bible lasting any more than 5 years without falling apart, maybe 10 if it is treated well. That being said, this was a fantastic deal and i don't think i could get a better value for my $5. I want to thank Zondervan or the seller for making this available at such an affordable price. I was worried about the quality of this Bible for the price but my worries were happily sent to rest when it came to my door. This will be my study / beat-around Bible until i inevitably give it away one day. If you have a day or 3 to air the funky smell out of the pages, this is a great deal. It could smell like broccoli and it wouldn't phase me because the words are so sweet!( The only way i wouldn't suggest this Bible is if you are very sensitive to strong chemical smells. I might have gotten a particularly stinky one but i have to assume all of these smell this way.
