So long as your wheelchair has a gap along the back of the seat as most collapsible cross-barred wheelchairs do then it just fits around the front to back of the seat itself and clips together underneath at the back with those kind of plastic squeeze together slotting clips that you also often get on rucksacks/luggage bags.It is specially designed so that the main square part of the bag sits upfront of the bars and the thinner flatter part at the back of the bag simply and easily goes over the crux of the crossbar and then clips together at the back. And it deceptively holds SO much too! Shopping-wise I tend to put fragile things in such as gifts and greeting cards and biscuits, cakes, bread, and eggs but it also easily holds the considerable weight of tinned goods, and is also ideal just for tucking a coat in to it or maybe even a medium-sized handbag.I simply wouldn't be without it, as it creates so much more extra storage space in a place that would otherwise just be wasted. I even use it to take precious things such as 10" round posy wreaths all the way on the train up to my partner's Mam's grave as it means that they arrive safely in immaculate condition, and are securely protected by the structure of the chair around the bag from being knocked about as well.Best wishes, suzy x x x **Q: Hi i have an electric wheelchair not to be confused with a powerchair my motor and batteries are stored under my seat will this fit thank you** A: This bag will not fit under an electric chair. **Q: How do you fit it under a chair with crossbars. It won't fit. The bag is to long please help with instructions** A: I made it fit, but it was a bit of a faff to figure out at first - basically I ran the straps above the crossing point of the bars and then behind the seat to clip it in place. The clips sit atop the back of the seat, I use a cushion on top so I'm not sitting on them. I have to pull the bag forward to fold the chair now, but its easier than taking it off and putting it on every time. My seat is 46x46, for reference. There is a good sized main compartment, and there are also two external slip-pockets, which are easy to reach. Don't use the main bag for anything you need to retrieve easily, though, as it takes a good bit of grovelling on my part around to get things in and out - and my octogenarian mother is not flexible enough to reach into it even when seated!The bag fits across the seat, fastening at the back - my mother uses a small cushion, so the buckles are not a problem; and the bag hangs behind her legs, so helps to keep them slightly warmer! It fits easily and comfortably on our standard folding wheelchair, which has X-shaped cross bars mid-way: there is a shallow section at the top which runs along under the seat but above the cross-bars; the main section fits in front of the cross-bars, and has a plastic base to help keep it flat (otherwise, it might drag along the ground!). There are two carry-handles if you need to remove it e.g. when getting into a taxi, though in wet weather it can be awkward to fit back on without dropping it onto the ground when it's heavy.We've used it a few times now, and it has worked very well so far, with all the heavy hospital necessities in that bag, and the seat-back bag used for lighter items needed en route. It goes under your wheelchair cushion and clips are the back.Few problems occurred, the clips sit right at the back of your bottom, and that's slightly uncomfortable.
