The built-in microphone just pick up noise.I had the system about 2 months. It attracted me because all 8 cameras has wide-angle and the built-in microphone. The setup was quite easy. It's up and running almost immediately when I had them all in the same room. However, when I placed them around the house, front door, and back door, I found only the cameras inside the house has good wifi connectivity. All outdoor cameras kept losing signals. Therefore, there are quite a lot of activities were not recorded such as Amazon delivery, lawn mower guys...etc...I'm quite happy with the picture quality, but the system kept losing sysnal make it almost useless.If you want to view the video on the phone, the NVR must be placed close to the rounter for the CAT5 Ethernet cable to connect them. There are no wireless connection feature from the NVR to your internet rounter.It bogged down my internet speed an often frozen my internet. I disconnected it and just run the NVR without viewing the video on my phone.It's more expensive compare to other systems for extra features, but they are not useable. I wish there is a way to improve the wifi connectivity (the regular wifi extender doesn't work).
