STRATA Compact Oscillating High Velocity Floor Fan with Remote Control, 5 Speeds, 18.4 in Tall, Powerful Air Circulator for Home, Electric Cooling Fan, Black

I read the reviews thoroughly before purchasing this very odd looking fan. I own many other sizes of Vornado fans. This does not move air like other Vornado fans, but it is extremely impressive. It is able to cool two very hot and large rooms in my home. I appreciate that it does NOT blow a concentrated ribbon or tunnel of air. Instead it moves air more like how you see a jet in a pool or hot tub ...but the fringes of that jet. Instead of a forceful 2-4 foot push of air, there is a large, large cube of air in constant movement and "bubble mix" (staying with water jet idea). In my kitchen that has 8 foot ceilings, it mixes and blends and cools the air about 10 feet out and about 5 feet of width. In another room with 10ft high ceilings, I'm even more impressed. It moves air for about 14 feet and cools almost half of the room with a greater width of about 12 feet. It seeks like the larger the room, the better the cooling. On low, it keeps the rooms with a nice "fresh air" feel. On low, it is relatively quiet. On high, it isn't noisy, but it isn't quiet. You can hear it is on high. I also don't use it oscillating or on the legs provided. Sometimes, I combine another fan in those rooms and the mix of the two is wonderful. Very very cool air ( outside wall temp 85) inside a cool 67 feeling but temp 73). It is a great feeling to feel cool without a forced stream of air. Immediately after turning off the my one fan to use in the second room, I'm aware of how disappointing it is to NOT having that fan in that room. This is why I ordered a second fan. Contemplating a third one for upstairs. It is addictive.... this feeling of fresh and easy to breath air. I don't know how easy to will be to dust over time. The perforated grill looks like an opponent.... however, because of its performance, I will be worthwhile to take the painstakingly small movements to clean it. I've already lost the first remote. But as it stays on most of the day moving air just right, I don't entirely miss it.

I discovered this fan from a Vornado email. I loved the design. I was bit skeptical because i purchased another Vornado product I assumed was gonna be a great purchase and ended up disappointed. I currently own several High Velocity Fans and based on the negative reviews I’ve read about the Strata, (I always read the negative reviews before the positive ones) I was scared this fan wouldn’t measure up. I broke down and took the plunge because it was on sale. I immediately gave the fan a test run before assembling the stand, because if high was nothing but a puny breeze, it was going right back in the box for a refund. Long story short, it is the truth. It is powerful and quiet. The last time I owned a fan with a low setting this quiet was the 7-bladed Kool Operator I owned during my teenage years (If you know, you know). Make sure you read the instructions for assembly as well as to change the oscillation from 90 to 180 degrees. It is lightweight and it doesn’t take up a lot of space. I purchased it for my bedroom. I can feel the fan with no problem from my bed that sits up high. At the end of the day, it is pricey. But anyone who is familiar with Vornado products knows you’re gonna have to cough up some coins. If you think it’s too rich for your blood, keep it moving. I also recommend this fan for those college students living dorms with no air conditioning because it is powerful, lightweight, durable and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Make sure your kids add it to their college registry.

Overall I’m pleased with this fan. The vertical slot for the air exiting the fan means that it can’t hit a wide area at once, but the column of air that forms is very tall and can cover my entire body if I’m standing in line with the air flow. The notable points: 1. At 37W max, this is the most efficient fan own. 2. The fan isn’t that heavy, and I like the laptop cooling fan inspired design. 3. Very quiet on low speeds, especially when far away. While not that quiet on high speeds, the design of the supports and feet, plus the vertical orientation of the fan’s blower, significantly reduces any noises caused by unbalanced rotating imbalance. 4. It fits in paces where some fans can’t. It also doesn’t make sense to place where some fans are already doing a good job. 5. It can draw in a lot of air to live around, by design. My gripes are: 1. The BLDC motor control algorithm puts the speed settings ion what appears to be unequal RPMs apart from each other. The jump from 1→2 is less than 3 → 4. 2. The fan won’t recall the last setting it was operating under if power is disconnected. One thing I like about my other BLDC motor based fans is that I can use an Eve Home outlet to switch them on and off. That doesn’t work with this fan. Each time the fan is plugged back in, it runs a quick calibration sequence on the left-right oscillation position before stopping in the middle. 3. The remote is annoyingly small. 4. It doesn’t work with Matter or any smart home Ecosystem. Vornado, please get with the program on this one. 5. One size. One color. I’d like to see another size and that it come in more colors Overall, I think this fan’s price is a little high, but it operates well, and I expect we’ll see improvements coming soon enough.

We purchased this Vornado fan to use in our living room during the hotter weather. The unique design was what compelled us to make this purchase as we have other vornado products and have been very pleased with them. This fan is quiet and it moves a good deal of air. It oscillates well and covers a good portion of our large living room. If you are considering a fan to help cool a room, this Vornado fan would be a good choice.

I purchased this fan as a Christmas gift & was informed it broke after 8 weeks of use. This was 3 weeks after the return option had lapsed. When you pay $150 for a fan, it should last MUCH longer than 8 weeks!

Funciona bien pero su caudal de aire es pobre

Si refresca pero esperaba más potencia y. menos ruido, No es programable y eso si me decepciona porque no funciona con timers
