I bought this for my niece. Storms make her nervous and we live in a place where tornadic storms are common and a major threat. This is the perfect size for her and fits nicely in her "storm bag" so she can grab it if she gets scared or they need to go to shelter. I think it would be great for camping, to keep in a vehicle or just to have around your house as it folds up small but is bright when opened.

These are tiny but mighty. Absolutely worth the purchase. Perfect for adults and kids as well. Very bright, and easy to use. 3AAA batteries and a wonderful source of light in emergencies, and for camping fun in the backyard or in the woods. Worth every penny. I bought 4 2 packs. Keeping some in the car and some in the house. Might actually get a few more for my SHTF bag.

I would like to first note that these are small. Collapsed they are 2 and 3/4 inches in diameter and slightly less than 4 inches tall. They operate on three "AAA" batteries. There are larger ones that are about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and about 5 1/2 inches tall that use three or four "AA" batteries. Keep that in mind when you are looking. I thought these were the larger size and was shocked when they showed up being mini-versions. Design wise, these have no external on/off button. Pull up the lantern about 1/4 inch and you'll hear a 'click' and the light will turn on. There are three strings about 1 3/4 inch long of LEDs set in reflectors and are bright. The batteries are installed in the bottom which is a plastic-on-plastic screw together affair without a rubber gasket, so do not expect these to be water proof. If you are storing them by hanging by the handles; make sure to hang from both handles as I have had all of them slowly slide open and turn on if hung only by one handle. These would be improved if they included a gasket to seal the battery compartment and if the bulbs were behind an opaque rather than clear cover. They are a great value if you are looking for small, powerful lights to have on hand for power outages.

These lights are perfect to sit around your home or even take them on camping trips. The light is very bright and lasts for hours. Plus they take double A batteries. Always a plus.

These are awesome and smaller lanterns to use around the house and outside! I purchased several of them to give as gifts. They're great if your power goes out, and I have several to place around my home if that happens. The price is fantastic also!

These are super small. Mini is the correct word for these, however, These mini lanterns are SUPER bright. Takes 3 AAA batteries even though it specifies 3 AA. Triple A is the correct size. I got these for my 80 year old Auntie that lives alone. She has put one in each and every room in her home in case the electric goes out. She loves them. I just may have to buy some more for my place as well. :)

Check the dollar stores first before buy on Amazon. It works good I like the size,feel,light,style,weight. Then I found it at the dollartree store in my neighborhood.
