Would you be afraid of getting pooped on by a bird while sleeping in this?

I was afraid of birds pooping on me also therefore I put a sign up and directed the birds to fly under the hammock. So far it's working.

Can you take the mosquito net off

No if you don't want to use net just turn it over

Has anyone had problems with mosquitos biting from the underside of the hammock?

If you sleep without clothing directly on the ultra thin parachute like material then yes however clothing or a sleeping pad (which makes the hammock even more comfortable) will prevent this.
