Makes Traditional Traps Obsolete
I've been using gopherhawks for five years. The design is brilliant. Super easy to use and extremely reliable. I wonder why gopherhawks haven't made traditional traps obsolete. Setting up: about 15 minutes VS 1 hour. Checking for a capture: just look out the window and yellow indication is 99% reliable VS digging down to check the trap, and if it is still set, making sure the dirt etc.is back in place. This device has literally saved me many hours and much effort. Furthermore, its success rate is considerably higher.

It works
It works. Tried different traps and poison before this one, no luck. Finally bought this one, first time I set it up, nothing, then I saw a video of a young kid explaining how to set the trap. I did exactly that, and man, it worked. Got two gophers in consecutive days. The youtube video title is "How To Use the Gopher Hawk Trap Successfully", I don't think I can put the link here, but go look for it, is 2 minutes. Since the trap has a VERY STRONG mechanism, I was concern my dogs will grab it, so I had to put a fence around it. If you have kids and/or pets that may mess with it, then is not for you. When this thing goes off, it hits hard. And there's no way to disarm it, I had to use a little stick or just throw it to the ground. It is dangerous for kids and pets, be aware. PROS It works if setup correctly. Very easy to setup (just pull until click and it's armed) Has a very very strong mechanism. CONS It doesn't come with a "disarm" button/trigger. Part of it stays outside, pets or kids can get it.

Finally easy solution that works!
I’ve tried everything to take care of moles. Most don’t ever work. This really works and is so easy to set. I didn’t buy the poker stick to go with it and wish I would have but I just use a broom handle or my trowel and cut out a small chunk of grass - as you can see in picture. The only thing is trying to unset it - found the easiest way is to just gently hit it against something and it will disengage. It’s been 100% so far - even caught a gopher with it. I need a few more. So fun to look out and see yellow! You know you’ve got one!

Trap is easy to emplace and effective
Living in a rural mountainous area in southern California, I am in a constant battle with gophers. I find GopherHawk traps easier to use than box-type traps. The latter require some careful excavation into the tunnel with a lot of spade work to accommodate the box and its spring mechanism while still blocking the light. I have purchased a number of GopherHawk traps, including also one probe device I use, together with larger garden stakes, to locate tunnels. You can also use the probe kit to enlarge the hole to accommodate the trap. Once you have enlarged the hole, you drop in some bait—I often use carrot chips—and then insert the trap vertically into the tunnel and cock it. When triggered, the trap pops up to show a yellow marking. I prefer the tangible evidence you get when using a trap. There are a couple of challenges to using these traps successfully. Sometimes it can take a lot of probing to find the tunnel. Also, if the tunnel is too shallow, it can be hard to insert enough of the trap into the ground to get the leverage needed for it to work successfully. But overall, I find this trap design to be superior to the other types I have tried. So far, none I have purchased have worn out despite a lot of use. I did purchase a spare cage in case one is damaged. A video seems to indicate it is pretty easy to install.

WOW! This works GREAT!
WOW! This works GREAT! I've used the traps with the spike for years and I usually have to try 8 times or more to catch a mole. But with this trap, I placed it only 3 times and twice I caught moles! VERY effective but be very careful when storing it. Make sure the trap is sprung before storing. It will most assuredly lop off a finger with ease!

The only thing that has worked
I have 3 of these in total. They are the only thing that has worked on my property. I set them up in areas of fresh activity. Because I have three, I can cover more than one area if I need to. So far, the traps have killed 4 moles. They were quick kills and the dead moles are easy to release from the gopher hawk. I give the trap a quick rinse with the garden hose and it’s ready to be used again. The yellow indicator lets you know if the trap has been triggered. So, I can remove the mole and reset the trap. I like that there is no poison involved and if a predator eats a dead mole, there’s no secondary poisoning. I have a dog, and have had to train her to ignore the traps. You could put a 5 gallon bucket over the trap if your dog can’t resist investigating. If your dog is a digger, I wouldn’t let them be around the trap unsupervised. You can order replacement snares for the device if one gets broken. So far, I haven’t needed to replace any of the snares. I have an extra snare on hand if I need it.

I might received a return item. It’s not the same
I didn’t catch any gophers and the trap is different from the original item. I request replacement to see if I can get the right item. I placed to different holes a few days. Nothing catched.

Work great- it’s what the professionals use too
I did the Lloyd’s Pest 30 day trap out for gophers and this is what they, the professionals used. Though they only caught one gopher in the 30 days, I asked the pro to show me what to do to on my own after the 30 days were up. I bought six of these traps in total, as well as the tool that helps you find the tunnels and prep the hole for the traps. The pro showed me how to look for the fresh dirt horseshoes, to probe the dirt around the horseshoe to find where the dirt gives way to a tunnel underneath, and how to set the trap, lifting up as you pull the plunger down. I have caught 3 gophers so far with these over the past 4-5 months or so. I’m impressed with how quickly these work. Yesterday, I saw 5 fresh horseshoes, then probed and set 5 traps and went for a 40 minute walk. When I came back, one of my traps was tripped (there’s a yellow stripe that shows when you catch one). These are great traps, and what the professionals I hired used. Would 100% recommend.
