Today my daddy said to me, “It's time you learnt to peck a tree.†Little Woodpecker has just learnt how to peck and – ooh! yippee! – what fun it is! Off he goes, on his first big pecking adventure, and he peck, peck, pecks his little heart out. He pecks the hat and then the mat, the tennis racket AND the jacket... just LOOK at all the holes he has made! Comical, contemporary and original! A stunning new picture book title from Lucy Cousins, with colour so exuberant it leaps right off the page. Please ask if you need a specific version. The data provided here may not be correct. With buying and not asking you are accepting the book as is. Review: We love peck peck peck! - We love peck peck peck! We’ve read a few Lucy cousins books and this one is our favorite! Fun to read. Review: I absolutely love this book, I love love love love LOVE this book! - We have had this book for years. Got it because we love birds and nature and kept it because it is the best chaotic and fun story in our library. The book is full of holes. You are literally paying for a book that is missing parts of pages and words all over the place… and the reason that I’m reviewing it now is because I just came to buy it again for another baby shower and I figured my constant purchasing of this board book is probably is the best review in itself! We still read it regularly even though my kid has technically aged out… so much so that I could recite the entire thing from memory at any point in the day. Super fun story, love the bright/bold illustrations, has a lot of common household words in it which is great for littler kids learning to talk, and it can also be an easy conversation starter for encouraging your kid to do what they love. 10/10, will keep buying this book until the end of time.

Really sweet book that my young kids love and I do too
A sweet book about a wood pecker learning how to peck. All of my kids have loved it from ages 1 to 5ish. They like feeling the holes in the book. I like books that have a dad who is present, loving, and hands on too!

we love this book
Well, my son and I love this book. He is almost 18 months. The images are fun, the story is fun, theres lots of items in there for him to identify (he particularly loves to point out the teddy bear). He loves touching the little hole cut outs and pointing them out to me. I love the way the book flows, you can kind of tell how many pecks youre supposed to say even if you dont actually read them all (you know how some books just read dysfluently? this isn't one of them). He loves to exclaim YIPPEEE when the time comes. We both love that this book is daddy-based, and I love that it ends with bedtime and I get to read to my son at the end, "I love love love love love you." I love everything about this book and it is one of his current faves.

A very cute well written and illustrated children’s book.
What a cute book, my grandson had it read to him at the library and needed a copy of his own.

Excellent book! Sweet story, fun illustrations - excellent gift!
Great book! We got this from the library, then ended up buying one for our daughter and two for our friends. • Sweet, fun story. Plus it actually features the dad and child, which is somewhat rare compared to mom/kid stories. • Cute illustrations, including actual "pecked" holes that go right through the pages! • Nice large size and very sturdy – great as a gift for people with young kids from baby to toddler. I'm sure that some very sensitive people will not like the fact that the young woodpecker basically destroys someone's home, and is applauded by the dad woodpecker, but it's kinda' funny if you don't take it seriously. I'm sure we'll be buying more for future birthdays/baby showers. Highly recommended!

Captivating and durable
At 5 months, our granddaughter was on her belly, head up, gazing left to right at this fun book. Once she learned to turn the pages, it became clear how durable this gem is. At 15 months, it is still a fave of hers. We have gifted this to several other babes.
