Excelent product, this is the adapter you should choose!
I have purchased this adapter multiple times for dashcams in different Toyotas and Lexuses, including for relatives and friends. It’s packaged with all the accessories and short cords needed, including a voltage tester to confirm the power source (other brands did not include this and this tester was important for an issue later). This adapter is a great price. I’ve purchased other more expensive adapters with less features, and I’ve purchased one cheaper adapter that I returned because it couldn’t draw enough power (I’m only guessing that power was the issue, that cheap one just didn’t work for me). The installation of this adapter is straightforward, the only challenge may be if your overhead console is a tight space. My experience is, I’ve always found a way to fit the adapter in the tight space and this adapter is a far superior solution (rather than to bring the power source all the way down to your center console or armrest storage). Of all the times I purchased and installed this adapter (more than 6 installations), I have only encountered 1 issue, and it was addressed and resolved promptly through warranty and with great communication from Sue. I used the tester to confirm that power was consistent, and then Sue was able to troubleshoot by email that the issue was likely the usb receptacle and she replaced it under warranty. (The usb receptacle happens to be a separate piece than the power source adapter, which made the problem easier to troubleshoot and solve) In closing, this is the adapter I always recommend to people who ask me about dash cam, even before considering the isolated case of warranty service. When I needed it, the warranty support, communication and service exceeded my expectations.

So easy. Don't think about it. Just get this adapter and save yourself a ton of hassle.
This worked perfectly on my 2026 Toyota bZ LTE. Getting the housing off behind the mirror was simple. It literally slides off after you pop off a small trim piece. The wire running from the mirror goes to a connector. I pressed in the clip retainer and easily disconnected that. Then unplugged it into this adapter, ok lugged the mirror into the other end, and powered the car on. A neat little volt meter is connected to the plug that you later plug in your USB adapter. The digital screen showed the 13v with the car on. I then turned the car off. Disconnected the volt meter. Plugged in the USB adapter and then found the appropriate included cable to connect to my camera. The kit basically powers a USB a jack that any USB cable could use. It includes the three most common cables for dash cams including USB c that most modern ones use. But even if yours doesn't match any of the three cables included, or you want to run a longer cable to the camera, you can use any USB a cable. This kit came with a few zip ties. I used this to tie the new harness to existing cables to keep it from rattling around and to make refitting the panel easier. It also comes with a couple small double sided adhesive pads. Not 3m, but it seems good enough to hold stuff in place inside the panel. I used some better 3m adhesive for the camera itself. The cables included are long enough to put the camera anywhere along the top edge of the windshield. I stuffed the excess cable under the edge of the roof liner and some inside the sensor/mirror housing area. I refitted the cover and it just works. This is so easy. It was by far a great idea to make a way to tap into the voltage sent to electronic dimming mirrors. It beats running a long cable to the lighter accessory jack or tapping into a fuse box. The whole job took me less than 15 minutes including trying out various locations for the camera to record the best view.

Perfect for 2021 Outback
I had an older Aukey dash cam sitting around that I was too lazy to install in our old Sienna. The Sienna is now replaced by a 2021 Outback (new to us!). Searching subaruoutback.org forums, various mentions were made of a different brand, but since the awesomely (!) named YQMAJIM brand popped up for less and shipped sooner, this brand and model it was. Figuring I had 30 days to return it if it was crap, it was an easy impulse purchase to make. Name aside, the package includes much more than expected. A pry tool, spudger, zip ties, the three USB adapters (C, mini, and micro), and a voltage display LED for the second connector in the main unit itself. Installation was so simple, just pry off the cover to the auto dimming rear view mirror, disconnect the cable, install the adaptor, including in my case the mini USB adaptor, removing the voltage LED from the second connector (read 13-14V in my case), and slowly but easily push the wire assembly up into the eyesight cowling, and put the cover back on the mirror connection. The mini USB cable easily fit in the Aukey camera and works fine. I'm too lazy to post photos or video, but installation was much easier than expected, taking more time to just mount the camera than install the YQMAJIM adaptor. Contrary to some Youtube videos, the plastic Eyesight cowling does not have to removed. The wires are small enough to fit in the generous gap of the cowling, and I felt no resistance while pushing in the wires. In three months of use, no issues to report. The camera seamlessly records as set, unobtrusively running in the background, powering up and recording without interaction from me. The power is only applied while the engine is powered up, so it is not for a continuous always on camera system. Highly recommended for 2021 Outback, fitting perfectly with the powered rear view mirror.

Works great, easy to install, helpful support (2016 Infiniti Q70)
I had already wired in my dash cam from under my dashboard, but I always preferred a solution that didn’t require running a long wire past where the airbags were. I came across these adapters but didn’t find one that was obviously for my vehicle, so I reached out to YQMAJIM and they quickly replied. After some back and forth with them, including me sending photos of the connectors in my mirror, they identified the correct product. I ordered it, installed it today, and it is working fine with my Garmin Dashcam Mini 2. The adapter is compact so it easily fits next to where it plugs in, and it was was very easy to install. The hardest part was just working up the courage to take apart the housing behind the mirror, but it turned out to be just two plastic parts that easily snap on and off. They include multiple power cables in the box for all the popular USB dash cam connector types, and they also wired in an extra tap to you can always plug in another USB adapter later - which their instructions say they will provide if you just ask. Overall I’m very pleased with this and hope it works for a long time! P. S. I also had a similar interaction with a different manufacturer of a similar product also sold here, but they were unable to figure out which adapter I should get.

Easy, quick install without running wires everywhere
This adapter fit perfectly to my 2022 Lexus RX350. If I had installed one before, it would’ve taken 10 minutes. As it is, it took me 25-30. Clear cut instructions….. easy clean install.

A great solution for powering dashcams
I have purchased these mirror taps for dash cameras on Ford, Genesis and Lexus. All fit perfectly to the vehicles with no modifications required. Among the niceties of this kit, is the inclusion of short usb power cords to fit whatever your dashcam requires, a trim tool for removing mirror trim pieces and small voltage meter to ensure you have the correct connection prior to reassembling the mirror trim. All in all, a really good product that does what it says it does, and it does it well.

No need to wire to fusebox anymore
I had to install a dash cam and radar detector in a Lexus 2026 IS 350. The last thing I wanted to do was to run wires to the fuse box. This item saved the day. VERY easy to install. The hardest part was removing the plastic cover where the mirror is. It included the mini USB cable that I needed with the perfect length. For the price, it was worth every penny.
