Proster Clamp Meter - TRMS 6000 Counts Amp Clamp with AC/DC Current Voltage Capacitance Resistance Diode Temperature Continuity NCV/Live Clamp Multimeter with Storage Bag Test Leads

The meter works well in general 220ohm resistor(±5%) comes up as 218ohm. 5v dc power source (from ESP32) comes up as 4.98v. Frequency however is a completely different story maybe I'm doing it wrong but a 1kHz signal shows up with 200-900hz (consistently changing while reading) manual doesn't help under frequency it talks about measuring resistance rather than frequency. Temperature is right saying 19c in a room that's 19c. The clamp measurements vary wildly showing me current in unplugged un powered wires. I was hoping the clamp did ncv testing in the same way it doesn't and moving on to ncv feature, it's wildly inaccurate will beep like mad with red indication nowhere near a power source. However, value for money is there. The screen is very bright you won't have an issue seeing it in any lighting conditions. Its built solidly and mine included 600v 20a probes instead of the 10a mentioned in manual. All in all it's easy to use and has the correct protection features for the level of meter.

Very happy with this meter. I wasn't sure about the sensitivity, but it seems to be within 5 or 10mA with a 100mA current draw. Well made, compact, with a nice case. The thermo couple option is a very welcome bonus. Definitely would recommend it.

Some good features on this clamp DMM re as follows.1- Good solid case. It feels sturdy and strong enough to accept the usual knocks and drops that will happen in the workplace2- Battery compartment is covered with a decent protection panel. It does not have the usual non encapsulated small screw that easly gets lost, not a clip in place that falls off too easily. Instead this has a bit of a hybrid plastic 1/4 turn screw that is secure, but can be easily removed with a flat blade.3- I like the tactile rubber sidebars on the case, thy do offer a very secure grip to the meter and make it a pleasure to hold and use.4- IT has a full auto position that comes on when the meter is turned on. This saves having to scroll through the selector to get to the parameters I want.5- Two test banana inputs (+,-) this makes it easy and foolproof to use as there is no optional inputs that can be mistaken when taking readings.6- Auto calibration on initiating the meter. Very useful and gives a bit more confidence in the readings.Some not so good features.1- The screen is large, but the actual readings are still quite small, as the lower half of the screen is only ever used for the selector section.2- The reverse background colour display is easier to read, but it has a sort of fade out when viewing directly. IT really only gives good views of the readings when viewed at a 45 degree angle. See my photos.3- When using in manual mode, the selector is not as useful as a conventional dial. I have to cycle all the way through each perameter to get to the one I want, plus I can't go backwards. See video.4- The NCV and live setting is right at the end of the selector section, making it a long-winded push push push on the selector to reach it. Safety checks should be easily selected.I'm not sure I like the selector section. IT looks cool, but it's speed and functionality is not as efficient as a conventional dial.

All good so far useful light on amp clamp jaws makes easy to identify cables. Clamp feels solid and good quality

A lot of features in a small package at a cheap price. But there are some issues. First, the display is better viewed off-angle rather than head-on. When viewed head-on the brightness and contrast are diminished.The next issue is the one that worries me the most. When measuring voltage the display can take almost three seconds to display the voltage. Whilst this time delay is taking place the meter reads 0 (zero), not a great problem on low voltage circuits, but potentially not good on higher voltage i.e. when checking mains supplies, etc.The next issue is the mode selection is a faff as you have to increment through every mode until you reach the one you require.

This is a great and very functional multimeter, with the added functionality of a current clamp meter, measuring AC and DC current.The user interface is fairly basic, with a single select button to cycle through the functions. Some function icons are dual purpose, with the AC and DC versions of that measurement selected separately as the SEL button cycles through.The probes (basic ones are supplied) connect to TWO sockets on the base of the device. Note that there is no probe input for current measurements - these are performed using the clamp only.The inclusion of a thermocouple probe was very welcome. The device also constantly displays the ambient temperature, presumably using an internal temperature sensor.I needed to use the current measurement function and I found it accurate enough for my purposes. One feature that I did notice that on the DC current range (I didn't try AC), it's rather sensitive to nearby electrical items, so the reading tends to vary somewhat if it is moved around while clamped round the wire being measured. Therefore I found it was best to clamp it round the wire (unpowered), then turn the meter on. The initial "CAL" process zeros the measured current. Then enable power in the wire being measured.Overall, recommended, and a useful addition to my measurement equipment collection.

Hit or miss whether you actually get one thats works, most reviews are from untested units it would seem. Only thing mine detects is voltage in 1 setting, nothing else works

We need to do a new amp clamp at work to check voltages of things so I ordered this.I wasn't expecting much but I have been pleasantly surprised.It's all comes in a lovely little carrying case, you get the amp clamp unit some cables to attach for voltage testing with extra clamps and also a little lead for checking temperatures.First off I installed the batteries which were supplied and switched it on, after self calibrating I then attach the two leads to check voltages and checked a few batteries, there are lots of different options for checking amps, ohms and various other electrical charges.It all worked flawlessly and read each battery as expected.Within Dana quick battery drain chest with the amp clap and that worked perfectly as well.It has good instructions that come with it and it will guide you on which buses to press to get to which option you require.Overall if you're good looking for a good cheap and clamp for checking voltages for wiring etc than this could be for you highly recommended.

Ich wollte eigentlich nur eine Zange, mit der ich einen GLEICHSTROM meiner PV-Anlage messen kann. Dieses Teil kann soooo viel mehr...und es funktioniert auch einwandfrei. Ich muss nur der Zange sagen, was ich messen möchte, z.B. Gleichstrom, Wechselstrom, Widerstand etc. und dann macht sie alles automatisch.

Great meter for ham radio station

The important factor is that it can measure AC/DC currents unlike similar devices that only offer AC. Setting to the correct function one must scroll through several steps, however this is just a matter of getting accustom to the device. Would I purchase again YES.
