Richway Amethyst Mini-Mat (Far Infrared BioMat)

Think of lying on a sunbaked rock and enjoying the deep warmth penetrating your body. That's the experience with this infrared mat. It's very different from an ordinary heating pad, which heats very superficially and may cause burns. It's an almost addictive experience. Great for relaxing at bedtime. More important, it has tremendously helped my lower and mid back pain. Ordinary heating pads provide very temporary relief; the effects of this infrared met are long lasting. It's pricey but I'm thinking of getting another so my wife and I can use them at the same time. If you're skeptical, there is plenty of information on far infrared on the web. Update: Two and a half years after purchase it's working well. This past winter it's been great for warming the bed at night. I've been falling asleep on it (setting of 3-4) and without fail I'm out within ten minutes; my sleep is much deeper too. Back pain is virtually gone. It's safe to sleep on and won't burn like cheap heating pads which have a hot element just beneath the surface. This has been a great investment in health and well being.

I bought a mini mat that was defective out of the box. The controller would work sometimes and not other times, you would have to bang it to get it to work. I returned it (had to pay shipping costs) by the date it said to return it and then I get an email from this seller saying that I didn't return it on time and that I sent them back a different unit that I bought from somewhere else and kept their unit. EXCUSE ME?! I've never even seen these for sell anywhere else and the audacity oh this company/seller to accuse me of that when they sent me a defective unit, They tried to place the blame on me when it was clearly their fault and then they give me a partial refund so now I am forced to file an A-Z claim so I can get my money back from purchasing a defective mat. I mean I can't even believe it, it makes me so mad. I will not be buying anything from this seller and from the company Richway again since I don't trust either one of them. I never leave reviews but I hope by letting people know what tricks they are trying to pull, I can save you all some headache. My advice is DON'T EVEN BOTHER ORDERING ANYTHING FROM THEM, you will regret it.

I really like this mat. i have only had it a few days but i use it and it really makes me relaxed. i feel like im outside on a hot rock with this unit. i feel refreshed after 30 min on it and somewhat pain free. Just ordered another one wish it wasnt so expensive but you get what you pay for. if they last over three years ill be happy with the money i spent on these. Sturdy product and works like a champ. keep in mind they take 10 min to heat up but then its bliss. just an update 12/26/13 product is still working after many hours of use. i am on this pad almost every night and the unit is still delivering a perfect amount of heat to the body. i bought one for my dad and his is still good too i think this is worth the money just WIsh this heat pad was as long as my entire body.

I purchased the full biomat Pro and pillow in 2005; it was helpful to me for low back pain and subsequently for several friends but was not heavily used because it is heavy and awkward to move, and, frankly I suspect is no more effective than any large heating pad. About 4 years after purchase the plastic - yes, you will see this in many reviews--the plastic started breaking down in the mat and the pillow, releasing the crystals and the beads. It has spent most of its life in storage because I could never get a clear answer as to whether I could patch it safely. (I amm about to try duct tape anyway!) The company now offers a new one at "33% of the Price" but the price delivered is about $1000, which is a lot for a glorified heating pad.

I have used the mat at my Physcal Therapist's office and I am amazed at the results. Extremely relaxing, very restful sleep, restores energy for me and great pain management for Fibromyalgia. I love this and from my own personal results and experience, I have ordered the mini mat for myself so that I can also travel with it. I may purchase two mini mats to have the full body effect. Another friend sells Nikken products and they offer a far infrared comforter that I will likely purchase to use with this pad to have the full body effect of the far infrared. I love this product and I have used many different products to manage pain. I rate this 5 stars and I highly recommend it to anyone with or without health issues because I truly believe it is a good product for your health. This is almost too good to be true, but I assure you, for me it is somethng I don't want to be without.

Even though Richway is listed as the seller, this is not an authorized Richway dealer. In fact, they do not want their product sold on Amazon, Ebay, etc.. and consider this a fraudulent sale and it is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. I had this Biomat for 3 months and failed. I called up the Richway company and they told me this is not an authorized seller. If you read the fine print when you check out you will see that HELLOPANDORA is the real seller. It also turned out that my mat was 12 years old. After it failed I tried to return it. The seller would not take it back for a refund and I was disappointed in Amazon would not help me. I have to admit Amazon has been pretty good about customer service issues in the past. My guess is that this seller bought these old Biomats up in some sort of liquidation. Long story short I have contacted my credit card company and they have allowed me to dispute the sales as a fraudulent transaction.
