I was going to add to cart, but the term "whitening" scared me. I'm not interested in lightening or affecting my melanin. Is the effect minimal?

The term "whitening" in korean skincare is essentially the same as "brightening" is used in other countries. It basically can help improve cell turnover which in turn can lighten dark spots or hyperpigmentation, but it won't bleach your skin

Is this ok to pair with the ordinary niacinamide +zinc?

I assume so but this product sucks dot buy it. it makes me break out its not a mirical

How many times a day do I use the product?

I just started using it twice a day, just after you normally wash your face, before adding moisturizer

Is it tested on animals?

It's a complicated answer. Korea banned animal testing, so most K Beauty products advertise that they do not test on animals. However, in markets like China, they are required by law to test on animals in order to sell in that country. Many of the K Beauty companies are in this same boat, where they don't test on animals for the formulation of their products, but they have to test on animals to access the Chinese market... which is one of the largest markets for cosmetics.
