SMLIGHT SLZB-06M – A Zigbee 3.0 to Ethernet, USB, and WiFi Adapter with PoE Support, Works with Zigbee2MQTT, Home Assistant, ZHA

I bought this Zigbee Controller specifically for use with Home Assistant, and it has been a great upgrade over a USB Zigbee stick. The biggest advantage is that it runs over Ethernet, which lets you place the coordinator where Zigbee coverage is best instead of being tied to the location of your Home Assistant server. For anyone running HA on a NAS, VM, or remote machine, this makes a big difference in reliability. In my case, my Home Assistant setup runs on a VM from my detached garage office while this controller is in the main home.Once set up, performance has been excellent. Pairing devices is fast, the connection has been stable, and range seems better than my previous USB coordinator. The web interface is also very helpful for firmware updates and configuration.The main thing buyers should know is that this isn’t completely plug-and-play with Home Assistant. Setup requires some familiarity with ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT (my preferred implementation) and the documentation could do a better job explaining common setups. It’s not difficult if you’re comfortable with HA, but beginners may need to spend some time figuring things out.Overall, this is a fantastic coordinator for Home Assistant users who want flexibility, strong performance, and the ability to place their Zigbee radio in the optimal location.

Paired with my home assistant setup. Tried both USB power and POE. Overall POE is less hassle.

Replaced my ageing geriatric ConbeeII stick with this (Converted it into a Thread Boarder Router), this has taken over duty as my Zigbee coordinator, works very well. haven't had any communication problems from it. My conbeeII started losing contact with devices in its mesh network even though it was within 30ft of of them.

Replaced an older coordinator and was shocked how well it performed. No more drops and missed automations.

I had issues with this working with Home Assistant and Zigbee2Mqtt using the Ethernet connection. It would lose connecting after a few days and need to be reset. The USB connection has been perfect so far. I didn't need it to be connected using Ethernet so has worked well for me once on USB. It is a little more involved updating the software since you need to switch it back to Ethernet to use the web configuration but should have to do that too often.

Home assistant plug and play. I recently moved and my computer system wasn't going to be able to be center house. Plug in, HA recognized it and we were off to the races setting it up.

I've been into Home Assistant as a hobby for a while now. My family puts up with it. It's a whole rabbit hole and on the hole however I've managed to make it useful enough for them. Until recently... more and more zigbee devices; I added them greedily, too greedily. The zigbee network died, half the devices went online, and my "smart home" was suddenly very, very dumb.My wife gave an ultimatum: either I fix it or we were done.The kids treated me even more like a joke.Even the dog didn't want to be in the same room with me.Every other router had week long lead times. This was delivered overnight. Configured in router mode, my network came back from the dead. My wife, while never pleased with me, was no longer actively despising me.I have already ordered two more to increase the robustness of my network. Maybe that's enough that the wife'll let me sleep in the same bed with her again.

I'm using this PoE as my Home Assistant ZHA coordinator. It's great. Every device from SONOFF, Tuya, Sengled, Aqara, MOES, Inovelli and Ewelink that I have connected to/through it is working great. I did get two powerstrips from Jinvocloud and only one of them would pair, but I suspect that's more on the powerstrip than the coordinator.Radio signal is strong, these devices can also be re-configured for use with Zigbee2MQTT and as Zigbee signal repeaters. I haven't tried the Bluetooth repeater function, yet, but it has one. The web interface is snappy, software updates go quickly and smoothly. All told, it's just a great hub / device.

Ich habe 3 SMLIGHT SLZB-06M in mein Home Assistant System integriert um 3 weitläufige Bereiche des Hauses/Grundstücks abzudecken. Damit habe ich mehrere Ikea- und Hue-Bridges sowie 2 Zigbee USB-Sticks abgelöst. Seit ich die SMLIGHT SLZB-06M im System habe, funktionieren alle eingebundenen Geräte problemlos. Auch die Geräteverwaltung ist damit deutlich einfacher.

Super, konnte einfach eingerichtet werden und funktioniert mit Home Assistant problemlos. Ich verwende nicht den ZB2MQTT sondern die Home Assistant Native Integration.Das einzig Negative ist, dass der Server im Gerät NICHT per Password geschützt ist. Den Password Schutz muss man selber einschalten!

Funktioniert prima!
