You won’t regret this purchase
I don’t usually write reviews, and have been mostly unimpressed with how it seems like Amazon is slowly transitioning to Alibaba i.e. many “companies” creating products of questionable quality HOWEVER This Merino base layer is P E R F E C T. Absolutely warm and comfortable. Great thickness and weight. Looks super good and smelled absolutely fresh using it three days in a row skiing. It’s expensive but worth it. Wish I could buy four more pairs. Really is an outstanding product. Hopefully it holds up over the years.

Best PJ/Fall/Winter Base Layer Set There Is!
I’ve bought multiple sets of these merino base layers at this point for myself as well as gifts and they are by far my favorite winter/PJ clothing articles I own. They are super comfortable for wool, which can often be itchy. They are tightly knit and have a good amount of stretch. The arm and leg cuffs have built in elastics that are super durable and great quality. They fit true to size and the material is a perfect thickness for balancing breathability and warmth. I highly suggest giving this set a try. I’ve had mine for multiple years at this point and they are still in great condition. TLDR: Buy these now. They are a bit pricey but their value is more than worth the price. And you also get free gifts!

Even a Sasquatch would like these
Bought this as gift for my skeptical Salt of the Earth Hubs who was not aware yet of the true superiority that is merino. His face dropped and I had to put his chin back into place when he asked How Much. I was utterly unfazed and ignored his protest. I easily got past his merino gear green inexperience and told him to ‘just try them because these will change your life’ with a grin. To put it short and sweet: He proceeded to basically only take them off to wash over the next five months. His only comment, actually Using His Words: he wanted another set. This, so he always had some clean and multiple weights so he could regulate better and choose depending on the weather forecast for the day he’d be out. I noticed his old synthetics were crumpled in the bottom of his gear bags when he’d come home. The merino were always within reach on top, and gasp, folded! High Praise from this man, folks. It should be stated he is THE case for the legitimacy of merino, and these extremely well priced merino sets: he is a heavy equipment operator that works outside on top of mountains in some of the most extreme winter environments on earth and loves it. For you, the reader’s purpose, let’s just agree to put aside the elephant-in-the-room Crazy Factor of that last sentence for now and stick to the underwear. All I can say in his defense is this world takes all types. That’s only important here to mention since he’s not a dude that sits around in it next to a cozy fire all winter sipping from a tea cup. (That’s my job, lol.) This set was put to a legit durability test and in incredibly harsh conditions and stood up. Once prompted for more detail, and translating out of his customary grunts, shrugs and sighs, he said [paraphrasing]: he stopped noticing whether or not his body was cold or hot since he was the perfect temperature all the time and stopped sweating whether in or out of a machine. He didn’t have to wear nearly as many layers in general. He didn’t have to strip ones off or put other ones on depending on where he was and what was happening nearly as much. He stayed warm even when outer gear got wet with frozen sleet driving and he had to move back and forth outside from truck to machine to truck. He wasn’t losing gear and other layers from job sites, trucks, machines or in the snow nearly as much either from stripping off and forgetting. The merino set remained odor free for an entire work cycle between washings so he reused them everyday. They stayed true to fit and didn’t stretch out of shape even wearing for long periods and for multiple days in a row. All day comfort second skin feel. No bunching in the armpits nor crotch. Ordered the 2XL, biggest they offer I think. He’s normally 3XL big and tall, so I wasn’t sure if these would fit but as a first or second layer snug is good. His back and shoulders can be a challenge to find proper fit for and I often tailor his clothes and gear, but these are perfect with long arms and a long torso design to accommodate various sizes and shapes. Spare to tuck in even! Fantastic!: This is important since he sometimes has to do mechanical repair on the fly. On top of a mountain on the machines, before this merino set, his lower back would sometimes come home chaffed and raw from cold exposure from these situations. A red burn from bending over with elements beating on him, not wanting to touch his clothes since his hands and outer gear coated with grease, tucking back is not a desirable option. The winds are basically trying to tear everything off so to have it stay in place and enough fabric to remain tucked in? chef kiss. Going into this next winter season depending on where he is going this year, we’ll get another set at a different weight. He said he wanted that versatility this time.

Choose the right weight for conditions.
I wore these at a Buffalo Bills game in December. COLD, RAINY day. I stayed warm and comfortable. Super soft and fit perfectly.

It’s warm and comfortable
It fits well and it helps to keep warm. It feels soft and the quality is better than expected. It doesn’t feel heavy and it seems to be quite durable. I’ll be getting one for myself since they are good to have around.

Incredibly soft and warm
This base layer is the best I've ever owned. I purchased the heavyweight set, since I already have several light and mid weight sets. We are currently in a super cold spell here in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US, so I tested them out today and spent most of the day outside. They kept me warm, comfortable and dry all day. I removed my outer layers and have been lounging around in just the base layer like a pair of pajamas...so comfy. The non-itchy Merino wool may be a bit pricey and a little delicate to wash and dry, but these are worth the money and the trouble.

You will love this base layer

Very warm
Pants are plenty long, material feels thick, good quality, and not at all itchy. I'm 5'7 and 170lbs. Good rise in front but I do wish there was a little more material in the rear...I have no butt and feel like it could have a higher rise! Bought for winter trip to Iceland- I no doubts at all this is going to work great. Same slim profile as other base layers I've worn in Alaska and skiing in the Alps, but heavier.
