USGI Genuine Military MRE Meal with Inspection Date September 2017 or Newer (Chili Macaroni)

The chili mac tastes good with slightly better texture than canned soups. Picture shows M&Ms as the dessert, but mine was lifesavers and a cookie. The lifesavers are good, more minty than what I'd find in a store. Kiddo (5) ran off with the cookie and apparently loved it. The cookie is gone and kid is drowsy from the large calorie load compared to her requirements. Personal serving suggestion is to throw the included Jalapeño cheese in the heater with your main for that nacho smell/texture and top your main with that and your crackers. The cracker texture improves the noodles and the crackers need something for flavor. There's red pepper flakes and salt for additional flavor if needed. Make sure to chew your included xylitol gum after your meal, govt cheese will still cause constipation without some stool softening. It's nice gum and you'll be able to poop, what's not to love?

For a first MRE, the chili mac was pretty delicious! There isn’t much to complain about flavor wise and I enjoyed the experience :)

I have only two negatives, otherwise it was exactly what I was hoping for: I have to say, unfortunately, with this specific Meal, for the price it felt a bit underwhelming where you get the same amount of food for a substantially cheaper price. The Chili Mac was delicious however I was not expecting nor was prepared for it to be spicy.

Honestly this was a great homage to the MREs many were issued and the taste was actually spot on for chili mac. It even had the jalapeno cheese spread!
