New model washing machines can present a problem with trying to use this product. It works best if you can add it to the wash tub before you add the clothes in the water with it already running. My washing machine is an older product, which I purchased when my other machine start working. I bought a whirlpool refurbished and I can open the lid while the water is running and it makes it so much easier to use this product correctly. I’ve been using it for years, but I did have to stop when I had the machine that only use minimal amount of water and you couldn’t keep the lid open and have the water run at the same time.
