Perfect fit, 90m of operation after 12hr charge
This battery has nearly identical specs as the original, it fit and connected perfectly. After a 12hr charge robo-vac ran just over 90mins before heading to the charge station. I spent a couple of hours looking at different sizes of batteries and decided on this one for two reasons. One, I was tired of looking at them, could have wasted all day reading reviews. Two, larger capacity batteries didn’t seem to offer any benefit based on the many reviews I did read. I decided that a battery with the same specs would fit without issue and if run-time was similar, I’d be back to normal. I’ve only run the vac once since the change (received and installed yesterday) and operation has returned to normal. At this point, I have no way of gauging longevity however, if I get a year out of it I’ll be happy. I look at it this way; Many dispose of their vac when it stops working, ours lasted over four years. In this day and age, getting 4 years out of a cheap appliance ($119.00 new) like a robot vacuum is about all you can hope for. Considering we were going to toss it and spend 3-times the original cost for a replacement, replacing the battery at $25 is a great alternative. If you do some math, the original vac cost about $30 a year to own. (4yrs x $30p/yr=$120.00) If this battery lasts a year, I’m $5 ahead minimum and I didn’t have to leave the house. Based on the 100’s (minimum) of reviews read, upgrading to a higher capacity battery didn’t often see a benefit in longer runtime or higher performance. The average life of a replacement battery ran between 7 to 14 months regardless of capacity. Many that had batteries lasting well under 1yr contacted the manufacturer for assistance. Even though warranties had expired in several cases, I was happy to read that manufacturers often made things right by sending a replacement. *Please do not count on this happening should your battery fail after warranty. Read all the information provided by the manufacturer and know what to expect if and when there is a problem. If you decide to buy a product with no recourse after the initial warranty expires, at least you know where you stand. However, it would appear asking never hurts. If things change with my experience, I will try and update this review with new information. I’m giving this item 5 stars to begin with, everything has worked as stated.
