Absolutely brilliant for quick household repairsโjust add water and go!
I needed to fix a couple of loose bricks on my garden wall and fill a few gaps in the outdoor patio pointing, and this 5kg tub was the absolute perfect size. The beauty of this product is that it's completely pre-mixed; you don't have to worry about buying separate bags of sand and cement or getting the ratios right. You literally just scoop out what you need, mix it with a bit of water in a bucket, and itโs ready to apply. It has a great, workable consistency that grabs well to old masonry, dries to a traditional grey finish, and sets incredibly solid. Ideal for anyone who wants a professional result without the hassle of a massive mixing job.

Lovely mortar mix - shame about the colour
The colour of the mortar is the only downside that I have found so far. It is of a light grey colour when fully dried after some days. It is therefore not really suitable for patching or repointing the mortar in most brickwork as the colour is different. Traditionally, Portland cement was mixed with Builder's sand which is of a yellow-brown tint giving the fully dried mortar a slightly beige colour, not grey. I first used this product to replace a layer of cement on top of a small circular drain for waste water as it was badly cracked. Normally there would be a grill and the waste water pipe would be positioned just above. For some reason my waste water drain pipe for the downstairs toilet sink was put down into the drain rather than above, when the house was built around 1969. I had to glue aluminium mesh to the base of the drain a day before adding the mortar so that it would not go down the drain. I did not go by the instructions to add a certain amount of water and preferred to add water until a good consistency was achieved with only a slight trickle of water seen after mixing. It dried well and nice and hard. It was workable for quite a while. The light grey colour was not a problem in this case. My next job was to replace the cracked mortar around a small drain cover used for cleaning out the waste water gulley. That job was perfect and yet again the light grey colour was not a problem. However, another job is to repoint a few bricks that have broken mortar. The colour will not match and I will have to buy a small amount of Portland cement and mix my own mortar with Builder's sand that I have spare from previous jobs. There is still plenty of mortar mix left in the tub after my first two jobs - seems to go a long way when doing small jobs. I may be able to find other jobs to use the mortar that is left but not for brickwork unfortunately. As I was doing my two first jobs on different days and using only small amounts, I mixed the mortar required in a builder's bucket each time. A great product but they should have got the colour right.

Good Quality and Very Convenient
Very convenient and easy to use. Ideal for small repointing jobs and minor repairs around the house. Saves a lot of time compared with mixing your own mortar. Would definitely buy again.

Great product delivery was turbulent
Item works as it should but amazon delivery dropped the box and cracked the tub losing quarter of the mortar over my porch, no point doing a return as its a waste of time doing one for a couple of pounds worth of mortar

Good for small filling jobs, main benefit is convenience
Easy to use, just add water. I used this to fill some smallish holes in external brickwork to keep out rodents. I could have bought a bag of sand and cement but this was more conveneient for a small job. 5kg sounds a lot, but it was just enough for a small patching jobs under an outside door (less than 2 inches high x 4 inches deep). If I was doing a large job I would mix my own so the main benefit is convenience. It dries slow enough to fill and skim but was solid after a few hours later.

Quality mix
It was easily mixed (not by me!) and the consistency meant application was better than cheaper alternatives, now has dried and the colour is very light, which is what we needed.
