So far the absorbency and size has been ok for me. I also use these for my elderly dog with nighttime urinary leaks. The pads are not of sufficient size for her due to her moving around when she sleeps. They haven't leaked through, though I've been a bit concerned that the urine might flow off the surface since it is pretty silky smooth. This hasn't happened, though, that I can see. I've washed the pads several times with no decrease in function and they've held up well.
