Follow der8auer's Youtube video guide and you'll have no problems with the process! Delidded my old i5-4690k to give it a new lease of life and push the overclock to 5.0 GHz at 1.38 V. Used the Thermal Grizzly conductonaut [https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01A9KIGSI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1] between the CPU die and the IHS, with Noctua NT-H1 [https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002CQU14A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1] between the IHS and my Corsair Hydro H100i GTX. I also used a few tiny drops of silicone [https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0046YDT8Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1] to reseal the IHS to the CPU board. Now, under a 2 hour x264 stress test the CPU doesn't exceed 70 degrees, and idles at <30 degrees. Perfect!

Verythis tool is very good nice delid tool help me delid 3 of cpus i5 6600k I7 7700k and i7 8700k yes I use liquid metal and the copper tops on eBay from Poland my i7 8700k temps at 5.0ghz using an arctic freezer 360mm r so good in games like 51c 53c max

used this to delid my i7 8700k, works great, the fastest and easy too use delid tool i have ever seen. you could also relid the cpu using the other components that come in the box.

Delided my 7700k and a 8700k with ease, very easy to use fool proof. Droped 20c on both processors after deliding and applying liquid metal.

Doesnt work for Ivy bridge CPUs, the IHS is too bit for the top slider and the caddy wouldnt hold the CPU.
