(Updated) Works amazing gives a new feel but.
Buttons feel amazing and dose improve on the user experience to feel more premium over the preinstalled membrane buttons. Installation is not to hard if you take your time. But if a button stops working down the line you can’t really go back not this company’s fault it’s just the way valve designed the steam deck. However I did have an issue where my start button stopped working. it turns out it’s just user error on my end I did not put the ribbon cable all the way in. I did have an issue on the other hand the rubber button they give that sits in between the button and the clicks button gave way and my A button got very hard to press. They do give a spare but I would love to see a more durable silicon to be use just like the valve original. By the way now I am using the spare one it dose work great. To be honest it’s a great product. I am always cautious of mods like this I am scared of a button failing but I can’t go back to the membrane one stock ones and I have ordered another set just in case something happens. Thank you extreme rate for getting in touch I will let you know I was at fault for the start button having issues. I don’t suppose you could add a line on the ribbon cable to see where it’s suppose to sit the tabs that need to be inside the lock are a little hard to see and that’s why I had a little trouble. Over all it’s great and would recommend.

Fantastic and easy upgrade for those who enjoy clicky controllers
I've always been a fan of clicky controllers, with my primary PC gamepad having nice clicky switches and hall effect joysticks. Seeing that I could get those same clicky buttons and sticks on the Deck I was quite excited, especially since I've always found the D-pad on the Deck to be a bit lacking. This clicky kit makes a huge difference, especially to action or D-pad focused games and makes them much more satisfying to play with the better feedback and responsiveness offered. Absolutely glad I bought these. Only possible downside is they're a little louder than the default buttons, and even compared to some other clicky controllers like my GameSir G7s quiter clicky switches. Not a problem for me honestly, but if you game somewhere that clicky buttons might be problematic, you might not appreciate that. Installation was easy, as the official video guide is very detailed and makes it a breeze. Rather than use the hairdryer method I opted for a microwave heat pack (similar to the iFixIt iOpener) to soften the adhesive. Two things to keep in mind though - once you do this mod, you can't really go back as the original button PCB won't be able to be stuck back on. Secondly, don't forget to remove your microSD before you remove the back, as a lot of people snap their cards this way. While I was in there I also decided to upgrade to hall effect sticks, as it's minimal extra work on top of this mod, and really completes the feel.

Clicky, but loud.
Nice and clicky. Too loud for me to use without headphones, but otherwise cant complain. Much prefer it over the mushy stock dpad buttons. Easy enough to install, just follow the instructions and dont try peeling it off without heat as it might stretch it, but it is otherwise possible.

It works on OLED
I bought this to see whether it works on OLED and it does. The connector cable to the switch board isn’t quite as secure as the stock on and can be pulled out with some force. A small piece of tape on each solved that. Really happy with the clickyness of the buttons and d-pad now. They are quite heavy to actuate so if you think this will be an issue for you then stay away. For me they are perfect and I can now hit diagonals on the D pad with no issue at all.

Be careful when removing the shoulder button piece.
Was kind of easy tbh. It's my first major teardown and I'm usually really crap with these types of things but it was a walk in the park. I just took my time with it. I didn't realise how much of a game changer it would be till after I done the mod. The SD should have come like this..

Buyer's remorse!
Kind of disappointed with this one - I had purchased this kit as I was very satisfied with some of the other Steamdeck offerings from eXtremeRate, expecting to get a d-pad experience akin to the very satisfying clicky pad on the xbox one pad, which in my mind is the baseline for a good clicky d-pad (i've included examples of the xbox one and elite d-pads for comparison). The installation was relatively seamless if you're familiar with steamdeck internals, and the replacement circuit board is comparatively very rugged with a handy adhesive strip on the reverse. However, both the tactile feel and audible sound of these switches is horrible. They require quite a bit more force to actuate than i'm used to with a d-pad, and the sound is comparatively quite tinny and unpleasant. On paper, this is exactly what i'm looking for, but this implementation is absolutely not the one. I'm going to be going back to the stock switches at the next opportunity.
