And then you also run the risk of not getting the dosage you need or getting something that upsets your stomach or whatever. So far, I haven't had any trouble with this brand. I feel good. I feel mentally even-keeled, it does seem to help my ever-present joint pain and I just feel BETTER overall when I take SAMe. I have recommended it to many friends and will continue to do so. I was worried about this brand because I read so many people got upset stomachs. I've been fine and my stomach gets upset if I take OTC pain relievers. These are not the magic pill. You can't just take one and everything will be okay. For some people I've talked to, it takes a month or two. For me, it took about a month to really feel the effects the first time. Once I got on my seasonal rotation, it seems to take less time to even out from the SAD effects. The instructions on this pack suggest one a day but say some people might find another one a day beneficial. This is inline with what other brands suggest. I've never had to take more than one a day. There is a warning not to take these if you are bi-polar or maniac depressive or if you are taking prescription anti-depressants. This is something you should talk to your doctor about. There are some side effects, you can find them by doing a web search, but they are rare. YMMV of course. The price on these is VERY reasonable. This is a three-month supply. Unless you have to up the dosage for the first month or two ...
