Good quality. Easy to use. No soldering needed
I replaced a cracked inline dimmer on a decorative table lamp in the living room. The original was soldered in place so I was pleased to find this one that does not need soldering. It was easy to cut the cord and replace with this one. Tools needed were a wire stripper and very small screwdriver. The instructions are clear. But there is one error you should know about. The illustration is reversed where it shows the load side and the lamp side. The actual dimmer is what you should follow. Load goes to the outlet and the other side goes to the lamp. To simplify installation you strip the ends of the wire, insert them into slots and crimp them down with screws. Two issues: the slots are fairly shallow. So strip only about 3/16" of insulation. You don't want bare wire extending outside of the slot. Second is that the binding screws are quite small and the slots won't fit a standard screwdriver. So be sure you have a set of jewelers screwdrivers on hand. Other than that, the finished install is quite clean and safe. The dimmer works well and does a linear dim. My lamp happens to still have incandescent bulb so I cannot comment on dimming an LED bulb. But it is rated for them. I recommend this dimmer.

Performs well on LED bulbs, dims smoothly with no flickering.
Great product. Very well built and very, very good function. Super easy to install. I've gone back 3 times for more. Just impressed by the quality and service. Perfect option when replacing cord switch on lamps.

Easy lables to read and install
I needed to replace a switch on a wax melter and these worked perfectly. I did end up crimping a ferrul to the wires before installing them just to make it easier to tighten the terminals. The lowest output voltage was about 60V which is perfect for a dimmable wac melter and the knob is ealy to turn so adjusting it is easy.

Rotary dimmer works perfectly!
I bought these to replace a failed dimmer. I bought the 2-pack because of the cost per saving and because I imagine I will want to install the other on another fixture. The installation was straightforward and the step-by-step instructions were thorough. The rotary dimmer is easy to use and very good. The white color matched the lamp cord. All cool!

Does not dim properly at lower levels
Easy to install. Unfortunately it does not dim smoothly... dims down to about 25-30% and then clicks off. No way to get really low light levels - e.g., glowing filament. pretty disappointed as the specifications claim 0% - 100%. I guess that is strictly true :-(

Dimmer good, instructions bad
Giving this 5 stars because it WORKS and has a smooth dim (not incremental) and I had a very hard time finding an LED compatible lamp dimmer that didn't require soldering or ordering from somewhere special. Other reviews mentioned the bad instructions so I was prepared to do some problem solving for the installation. You will need a small electronics size phillips screwdriver fyi. The first problem was "separating the parts". You need to take the dial off...it just pops out from the outside but it's very firm and keeps the board attached on the underside so you need to take that off to get the board out. Then for wiring you need to read the markings on the actual board. One side is marked load and the other N (neutral) and L(line). The wood type screws are fine - I think they actually dig into the plastic (the plastic didn't seem to be threaded). Regular 18/2 type lamp cord fit in the openings okay. The plastic case top and bottom does have a slightly bad fit together but it's fine.

Parts don’t fit.
4 screws for fastening the casing are too big. I used tape to wrap. 4 electrical wire fasteners are defective.

I ordred a in-wall dimmer about a month ago but it did not perform well. But this one is much better. An excellent dimmer that is independant of house wiring. If you are using a "Vintage Giant LED Edison Light Bulb" it will dim very smoothly -and does so nicely. However, other led bulbs may not dim well. Parts are strong and fit very well. Easy to install if you have some previous experience with electronics, if not - call a friend with deft electrician hands.

I used these to control dimmable 120 volt LED bulbs. They work well but the plastic housing is thin, flimsy. It was easy for me to wire the switch into a lamp cord, but you will have to strip the wires, insert the ends into the terminal strips inside the housing and use a very small Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the terminals. Very easy if you are comfortable doing such things on 120 volt wiring.

Easy to install and certified. The people who want zero light to full light most dimmers don't work that way. Starts at a certain brightness than goes to full. Works fine for me

Screws that came with product are wrong size. Too big for holes. Fail.
