Superb quality tool defiantly worth paying a little extra!
What a great peace of kit! Bought for my Son who is an apprentice carpenter, he sharpens all his own chisels and his mates chisels. This model has variable speed and forward and reverse, the build quality is excellent!!! Very Very pleased with it!

Very good construction
Excellent machine for a small workshop, but does everything I need?

A great tool sharpener
A great wet stone sharpener with total control speed adjustment and reverseible. I would give it 5 stars but the wet stone needed dressing to level before I could use . A very sturdy and well built machine

Absolutely terrible
Absolute load of rubbish! Not fit for purpose. I've had a tormek before so know how these work. Nut that attaches stone on keeps winding loose no matter how tight you do it. Stone stops under very little pressure. Put very light pressure on chisel, after about 10 seconds machine jumps and water gets thrown everywhere. Shouldn't be allowed to sell products as bad as this. Deserves 0 stars it's so bad.

Good to use
Does the job it's meant to do. Can be a bit of a fiddle seeting it up to begin with. Works well at slow speed as well as the faster ones.

Underpowered
Really disappointed. Started on my 2" Chisel and found as I'm moving the chisel left to right on the arm it is dangerously close to slipping off at the furthest point. The wheel appears to be fairly true but the arm it spins on isn't. Which results in constant wobble. The final problem is the motor. It is woefully underpowered. I have a pair of turntables with higher torque than this thing. Every now and then it slows. The belt slips and then as you come away it catches again causing the wheel to accelerate splashing water everywhere. My room was like a slip and slide after 10 minutes. Going to be sending it back and trying an alternative.

Not for knife sharpening.
Not the best for knife sharpening. The grit is too low and removes too much material. Leaving a massive burr. The leather stropping wheel is made out of plastic thatโs flimsy and the leather just seems to fall apart after little use. Probably due to the aggressive grinding that leaves a huge burr. Probably ideal for wood work tools. But Iโd recon the stropping wheel will fall to pieces in not time all the same.
S**!
Best variable omni directional slow speed tool grinder.
Absolutely the best at a better price than Axminster and abetter price than Record or Jet. Seems like to all copy each other. But they do say to copy is the greatest flattery. Perfect easy set up and I completed 4 full sets of wood working chisels from blunt with nail chips to razor sharp in just a few hours. OK I'm slow. But working one handed etc. It took twice as long. Why pay more for less features you will use. Ie variable and forward and reverse. Thank you for a good design.
